Dissidia: Final Fantasy - Released in All Major Territories!

Square Enix is slowly spreading Final Fantasy to other types of gaming genre. Would you like them to continue this trend?

Honestly, you of all people? Not as bad as others, but you still point to a game in the same way that everyone else is. We have very little idea of what SE would produce in a fighting game, because they've hardly ever made one.

Ehrgeiz isn't a Square game truely. They baught the game and repolished it to carry a few extra games, and some FFVII characters. Dream Factory developed it and NAMCO released it in 1998 for arcade systems. Square baught it to port to the Playstation the following year. Its no more an ambitious move then FFX-2 was. Just something to gain cash.

Likewise, Tobal series was developed by Dreamfactory, and published by Square soft, which became markedly more popular.

The only PvP Brawl/Combat type fighting game that SquareSoft really has any claims to is the Bushido Blade series, which has been known to hold up its known amongst most gamer's like/dislike list.

At anyrate, most people who have reported seeing the game relate it more to a Kingdom Heart style SmashBashSlash fighter.

I wasn't insinuating about Square's practice and inexperience in fighting games. I was simply pointing out that Sephiroth isn't going to make or break the game and that people STILL pick him in spite of that. It's still a bad game, but I didn't mention anything about Square's involvement of it.

Actually, Bushido Blade is s**t for competitive play, and pretty much everyone who's anyone in the competitive fighter circuit ignores it. s**t, even when it was out, the casual fighting crowd ignored it too because it wasn't any good.

And if that last statement is true, it IS going to be a terrible fighter, because if the fighting system in any way resembles KH, it's going to be s**t for competitive play.

Kingdom Hearts'esque battle system would fail for competitive play.
As a PvE (Player VS Enviorment), the KH system was pretty effective generally.

But it would totally decay a PvP enviorment.

Basically all of KH could be done by spamming the attack button.
Yet another fighting game that encourages button mashing is bad. scream

so, about cecil and kain being in the trailer...you think maybe they got cecil mixed up with the warrior of light and kain mixed with garland (or vice versa)? of all the articles i read about the dissidia trailer, they never talked about wol or garland being in the trailer.

hopefully i'm wrong though, because i really do want cecil and kain to be in it

Cecil and Kain aren't confirmed. IGN mistook light warriar for Cecil, and Garland for Kain. As usual, they tote a big voice, very inaccurate facts, and of course the internet law is "If its on a website, it must be true!" is the usual driving force behind mistakes and rumors in the gaming world.

I have another feeling that it won't come out until Square posts it instead. I hope I'm wrong though.
