And if Tactics were released with Ultima as a villain...We'd have that little bit of lore fuffiled.
The problem with this this theory is that Ultima wasn't the main villain. Ramza has no connection to her at all, and she spends the entire game in limbo until Vormav summons her anyway. If anything, Vormav should be the one chosen, because he's the puppermaster behind the Church and the war.

Cloud of Darkness flies in the face of this theory. Almost exact same premise.

You guys talkin' about characters that should be in it? Ashe and Vayne definitely need to be in it to represent FFXII, I think... *nodnod* As for FFXI - are there any better than Altana and Promathia? I haven't played it myself, so I don't know if there are any stronger rivalries...

I'd prefer it if they were unlockable, rather than accessible from the start...

I hope they can bring in Richard Ian Cox for Bartz's voice. If he can't look like a cute but rural dude, he can at least maybe sound like one, The more I look at his art, the less I like it. Amano draws a pretty character, but it really doesn't reflect his personality much. Bartz is more in line with Tidus, so I'm not really sure the makers are aiming for, giving his portrait such a serious appearance.

I wish I had nice nails...and hips...like Kuja... crying

He's pretty then any other girl that I know... even ME!

And I have nice nails. Even though the nail polish PEELS clean off within 12 hours of putting it on.

I wish I had a body like Kuja... except in woman form.
Darn you Kuja for making us girls feel inferior to you! scream

good theory your right though i don't want the FFXII characters playable from the start unlockable seems to be the way i will like this game.

also if its possible then DLC as well.

i didn't know that the image i put up was too large.

It does sound like a good idea, and usually games like this has that.

Sadly, I can't stand some people running around going "I WANT TIFA! I WANT GENESIS! I WANT SORA FROM KINGDOM HEARTS! I WANT--"

stressed

But overall, it is a good idea. I think they do have an option for alternate outfits, I've read that you can play as Squall in his SeeD uniform. Other characters might be able to get this too.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=939394&topic=45363265 This is an interesting little diversion to read while waiting for the true plotline of Dissidia to unfold further. While most of it probably hardly reaches canon, it does manage to justify many choices, and give some interesting ideas. I found this ongoing fanfiction fascinating.

It still seems to me like its a little early for Square to suddenly have dumped the final three characters on us all at once. Sometime in november, sure...

I'm wondering if maybe there's still some merit to the mysteriously random XI and XII slots on the flash site.

I'm hoping they really will include them. Not because I care much for XI or XII, but it really would display the creator's faithfulness to the series as a whole. I remember Nomura was very "I can't tell you anything" with questions about XI. Usualy when something is 100% false, Square never minds going ahead and telling us. So why closed mouth about that?

I also can't help but wonder about a piece of Final Fantasy lore that has remained very prominant in the series. Three Female Leads. Through out the history of FF's since V, there have been usualy three female protagonists. The only personality games that avoid this are II and IV.

V: Faris, Lena, Krille
VI: Terra, Celes, Relm
VII: Aerith, Tifa, Yufie
VIII: Quistis, Selphie, Rinoa
IX: Garnet, Freya, Eiko
X: Yuna, Lulu, Rikku
X-2: Yuna, Rikku, Paine

But not every FF game has had the same traditional from the very begining. Its still a noticable feature.

If Ashe is selected to represent XII, and a female character is chosen for XI. And if Tactics were released with Ultima as a villain...We'd have that little bit of lore fuffiled.

Wishful thinking, but theories based in fact are fun.

IV doesn't avoid this. II and III (DS remake) avoid it by having so few characters, but IV doesn't avoid it. If we're counting Relm (who is barely significant) and Yuffie (who is optional!) then we must count Porom, for IV: Rydia, Rosa, Porom.

Well usually...no, more like traditionally...fighting games always have more unlockables, like characters, stages, and challenges.

That's why people are hoping for more characters.

...but this is Square here, they are not use to fighting games. But they did The Bouncer and it did have extra characters.

You may not be able to use the use all of the heroes and villains straight away until certain points in the story. So you may have to unlock everyone.
>_>

^ NOOOOOOO!

I already knew who I wanted to play as! I had a list!
1) Cloud
2) Sephiroth
3) Kuja
4) Zidane
5) Kefka
6)...anyone...I'll select the random option!

I'd play as everyone first, then find a character that fits my style of fighting and go with it.

At this moment, it's between Squall, Cecil, Tidus, Kuja, and Ultimecia.
