Arguing a "moot" point means not putting effort in defending what you're saying. By asserting your "point" you're convincing others in the thread that they're wrong and you're right, a misstep on your part. It has nothing to do with logic, and everything to do about misinterpreting your opinions and its implied connection with no basis for support.

If you want to say that you don't think Cloud will be in it, just say it and don't defend it. The "reasons" you're coming up with it is hurting your credibility rather than helping it.

I have been just saying that, then you guys just over jump it. I have always said, this is my opinion and here is why, and inserting moot point in it, as I said even, I most likely am wrong.

So that is what I have been saying, that that is my thoughts on the matter....and I keep on saying, this really doesn't matter.

and honestly, I don't care about my credibility for a bunch of people that I never will meet, and really probably have years on in life.

and don't forget that they are remaking seven, and changing what is canon in it slowly but surely

Again, you miss my point. So for the sake of saving time from typing a horrendously long explanation to have you understand what I'm saying, I'll just say that anyone continuing the above argument further will be blocked from replying in this thread. It's just not worth it.

New Topic: We know the characters, places, and music are so far pretty nostalgic. But what about other aspects. Moogles, Chocobos, Cacutars Imps, Tonberries. The Cids. Biggs/Wedge. Gilgemesh. Summons. Namingway, Airships.

If this really is the 20 year celebration of Final Fantasy, how will they, if at all, impliment these important signetures of the series?

Ideas?

He hasn't been annouced yet. So we're not putting things in until we know that it's confirmed by Square Enix or we get proof from Japan.

Here, we don't jump into conclusions. We discuss what the possible outcomes are. 3nodding

Wanna know the nice things I'm doing for Christmas?
Look in my journal!
I suppose Squall might be able to summon GFs, along with whoever will be used for VII.
But that makes me wonder if we'll be able to junction/equip materia...

So then, I guess, Tidus, Zidane, Cecil, the WoL and the OK won't be able to summon. Unless the OK can change Jobs into a Summoner...

@.@

Perhaps Moogles with serve as shop owners? If we'll even need shops. :P

It shows that huge plain, you know, where they're fighting. Chocobos might pop up for transportation...

These are all dumb ideas. XD
I have no clue. :o

The moogles aren't a dumb idea. Contrary, its actually highly probably. As a large number of staff are carry overs from the Kingdom Hearts series, moogles may well be the very minimum of icons involved. We've already had confirmation that items, armor, weapons, and accessories will be purchasable in this game, so moogles could be nice shopkeeps.

This could be a nice excuse to involve one or more of the Cids, or other minor characters.

Unconfirmed - the tech demo is no evidence of a VII remake, any more than the VI tech demo resulted in a remake of VI on the N64.

And if they were to remake VII... would they observe, or ignore, all the changes required by the Compilation? Nothing major... I mean retconning Zack's parents' ignorance of him and his actions over the past ten years despite his fight with Hollander right there in Gongaga, that's not too bad... the Corel reactor being complete (or not?) when the incident happened... Cid's assessment of why the space program was permanently nixed... Avalanche's oil-baroning "eco-terrorism..." Cloud's motivations and personality... nah, those are just minor changes, one and all... amirite?

I'm pretty sure discodogmakei's last line was meant to convey his thoughts on "I have always said, this is my opinion and here is why, and inserting moot point in it, as I said even, I most likely am wrong."

Please don't make this go on longer than it has to be.

Something about it bothered me. (Specifically that final dig about the VII remake.) And on a different note, something about 4:45 of DKs3713 Promotion bugs me more. The female in the image tends to be cited as very strong evidence for Terra; but I don't see it. If you watch the whole scene carefully, the glove is revealed to be short. When Terra is gloved in the Amano art (and let's face it, there's a metric a**-ton of Amano Terra art) the gloves are pseudo-sleeves for her bustier, and thus extend up to just under her shoulders.

The gloves worn in that scene are simply too short, not quite reaching the elbow; and the leggings, below the skirt, seem to not be marked except by a seam line.

From that, I'm getting a feeling that this *isn't* Terra.

Yes, yes indeed: I am a member of the Pholidota Order.

*Find yer own truth.*

Ur is the town from which the Onion Kids hail; it is not the second person possessive pronoun.

What I find to be more compelling evidence is the hair. Or rather, the lack of it.

Celes has what is possibly the most glamourous female hairstyle of any FF character to date. Long, blonde, very flowing, and quite pretty as far as every Amano illustration of her depicts. And yet the profile of the female, if we are to assume it a she, and one of the VI girls, shows no sign of long flowing hair. The cape woul contrast with anything against it, I'm quite sure of this.

If anything, you'll notice that the back of Zidane's head, and the back of Unknown Female's head share the same double triangle point. Zidane has a poneytail. We can speculate that the female character probably also has a poneytail. Terra, one art style or another, has always had an upraised plush poneytail, pulled tightly back. Even if I can't justify the comparison to Zidane, which I admit is shakey, I firmly believe this character does not have the long hair required for it to be even remotely guessable as Celes.

But thats all I've got. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8HzEyRAf6E&feature=related Examine and say what you think.

the second guy from the right - that has to be Bartz, right? i haven't played FFV so i can't be sure

Some provide evidence it could be Galuf.

But I have a sinking feeling as he is not a villain, he simply cannot get in based on the fact that well...he's not pretty enough.
Lets look at the possible roster

FF1: Light Warriar: Pretty
FF2: Frionel (I think the name's catchier)Pretty
FF3: Onion Knight: Cute...Will be pretty when older
FF4: Paladin Cecil: Pretty to the MAX
FF5: Crusty old man
FF6::...Well whatever one you pick is fairly pretty/handsome
FF7: Cloud: Pretty with muscles
FF8: Squall: Pretty
FF9: Zidane: Pretty, needs some maturing
FF10: TidusPretty

Yah. One of these does not belong.

In all seriousness though, Bartz is the current hero of the FFV story. Galuf's relationship is in the game's past, and he served his part as a guide. He is a token supporting character, but far from the main one. My money is on Bartz.

Not that he's pretty either depending on the art. But at least he's handsome....In my mind anyways. The roster needs another brunette.

So far, this is the best argument I've seen why the FFV character is Bartz and not Galuf. *thumbs up to TonberryKing* mrgreen
