Since when has Square EVER looked at fan wishes as opposed to its own creative interests?
If this were so we would
A. Have only one FFXIII on the PS3, and out already.
B. An FFVII as a remake for the PS3
C. Dissidia would be a PS3 game with every character possible.
Call me crazy, but SquareEnix's staff are well known for putting their own ideas ahead of what fans actually demand. They have the insurance that their fanbase will buy anything they produce with the prejudice that as long as its a Square Product, they have a high chance of liking it.
If Dissidia were a popularity contest, Jecht would not be in it, Seifer would have trumpt Ultimecia's slot, and II and V would have been shoved asside for XI and XII's slot.
When will people learn?
See, that is the point I am making, SE has been known to put their interests first, but that is what makes them them.
I don't know how many of you remember when FF3 (FF6) was out on the SNES and how angry fans got when they switched to PSX, or when we got the crappy version of Mystic Quest because they felt like we would like it more. Or even when they decided that they weren't happy enough with FF3 japanese (the actual FF3) and it wasn't released until recently after a huge remake...I played the original, it was horrid.
The point is, they are artist..creators..whatever word you want to use, they will always put their emotions before that of the person that is crying out for something...say like cloud.
There is no basis that they won't put him in...but really the only basis that they will is the fans...which square has ignored in the past.
And the argument with it being that Cloud is the main character....one retort...Jecht (which I am actually happy with)...another retort....Golbez (why not Zerumos)
And if it was a popularity contest then it would be Seifer instead of Ultimecia as the TonberryKing said.
Betcha though that it will be Cid...that is only my guess.... I am no more interested in who the FFVII character is than I am about the FF3 character, I liked both about equally, so really I am not going to get much play time out of either character from either game. It's all a moot point.
But for the sake of arguement, I could easily see Genesis with his storyline more than I could see cloud....why would the goddess choose cloud, when from the same game, she has already chosen an avatar?
That is my arguement.

hey, discodogmaker, your "logic" SUCKS sad
However you want to look at it, we still won't know until the october game show (and I garentee that is when all will be revealed). I am just saying, just wait and see, it's not such a sure bet as everyone thinks

Now you're just grasping for anything you can get your hands on. Nothing in here provides a strong basis for excluding Cloud in the hero roster for Dissidia.
It's like saying that Kobe Bryant shouldn't be allowed to play basketball and earn an MVP because the Lakers are tired of him and that Shaquille O'Neal has his own video game and stars in movies after his career. There's no logic behind it at all.
true, but that isn't to say the lakers may not find a reason too just because. It's called Creating a reason....hmmm, they could say that he is a bad role model, so they won't give it to him
Same is true about cloud, they could say that he is boring, so they don't want to use him, or that they have done all they want with him....ect. ect. ect. ect.
Again, reference....Jecht
