Though you could take the whole "You are a puppet" line also has been said in other forms by the other villians in the previews in one form or another. It could be just a simple reference to the fact that Cosmos is "using" whoever, order can seem like such puppetry.

By that argument, "kanojo" could be Faris. Kefka's off his rocker, so it's hard to tell just whom he speaks of there. The other argument - that Cosmos wouldn't choose Aerith - would hold even if Sephiroth is speaking to/of someone else (perhaps Squall?) rather than Cloud.

The only reason I wouldn't want Cloud is having Yet Another Sword User. More variety would be nice... but it has to make sense in D:FF's milieu also, not variety for its own sake.

That said, it'd be quite fine by me if FF5's hero, whoever it is, had the Dragoon class. Because Dissidia needs a Dragoon, and we've already excluded the obvious Dragoons.

See, that is what I was thinking, about sephiroth speaking to squall. I think that it is just fitting. Now I would LOVE to see Faris, but I don't know if they would actually do that. I do agree with the whole fact that it probably isn't Aerith, I was only saying I would love to see that. I have a personal theory on who it is as I said earlier, but I am holding that one to myself. Honestly, I think we are most likely gonna see Bartz (as I said, unfortunatly) though then that could easily be negated there.

My personal anguish against cloud is that he is the most overplayed character in all of final fantasy. I have actually grown tired of cloud and find him quite boring now. Shoot, my one friend is hoping for Cid Highwind, though he highly doubts that will ever happen.
Ghhhhk. This is what I get for attempting to view the forum on a connection that only lets half the posts load. My apologies.

Alternative costume. Interesting.

As for the whole Cloud/Aerith choice...What the bloody hell would Aerith do even if she WAS picked. She's by no means a fighter, and is an overrated magician (Cait surpasses her easily, and Yuffie is an equal rival). Her ex-mode would be rather amusing, considering all of her limit break abilities are based on defense and healing.

That being said, it would be very nice to see her in this game as a side character, if only because her amano design is rather pretty.

I'm also starting to resent people thinking that just because they have swords, everyone is playing out the same. Everyone so far has very unique gameplay attributes, especialy where Exmode transformations are concerned.

Gasp! Was that Akira Ishida I heard in that video (on Dissidia's main site)? I definitely heard him in the introduction, and I'm pretty sure that was Kuja he was voicing later on. And I'm pretty sure I heard Hikaru Midorikawa, too. Of course we probably won't get the Japanese voice track in the US, but it's still cool, in my opinion. Am I the only one that cares?

Anyway, I'm just hoping they do a better job with this than they did with Final Fantasy XII, which was in my opinion the ultimate low point for the series. Dissidia looks cool, at least, so maybe they'll manage to pull it off.
Yep, Akira Ishida is the voice of Kuja, and Hikaru Midorikawa is the voice of Firion.

Pretty much every voice actor in this game is famous in some anime. *___*

I'm praying with all my heart that the person responsible for vocal casting in Crisis Core is incharge of the English dub. Ever since that person picked up the new VA for Aerith, I've wanted to know who it was to give them a big hug for choosing her. Whoda thought such a minor casted role would end up being a perfect for a lead? She was the moogle girl, and on the same project. They shoulda just used her, and never looked at Mena to begin with.

And on that subject, Chris Burton is my ideal Cloud, and I've accepted Newborn as Sephiroth. *Plugs ears at any objections*

On that note, how do you think SquareUSA will handle the localization of this game? Anime veterans? Celebrity cameos?
Will Ultimecia have a rrrrrrussssiaan accent?
Bring in Mark Hamel for Kefka?
Will other characters have accents?
Will Garland finaly say, in full English "I SHALL KNOCK YOU ALL DOWN!"?

I'll bet you great odds Tara Strong will be called in to do Zidane or Onion Knight.

What do you folks think
this game will be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cooollllllll

i cant wait until there
lol

I will slice my ears off if I have to have a Russian accent as horrible as Rosso the Crimson from Dirge of Cerberus.

She deserves a kick-a** female voice-actor that can pull off a good evil sorceress.

Heh, I'd love to see Cid myself.

-Tonberry: There's a difference of argument between sword styles and swords. Soul Edge/Calibur would have sucked if most of the characters used swords, even if every character had a different way of doing so. It's the variety of styles - and of weapons - that makes the game.

That's what I mean when I dislike the sword proliferation - that even Square is capable of equipping 75%+ of the characters with a variety of interesting weapons.

So far I haven't really liked any of the American dubbings in Final Fantasy, or Kingdom Hearts. There's the odd decent voice actor, but generally it pisses me off. Whereas the Japanese voices tend to sound pretty much perfect.

This doesn't mean I hate all American dubbings - the Metal Gear Solid dubs are actually an improvement upon the original.

I guess I'm picky... but even if it's really bad, I can live with it.

Oh, and I imagine the characters of most FF games to have English accents due to the Medieval-style setting

Really? Even games like FFVII, FFVIII, and FFX (although FFX actually has voice actors, so there's less actual imagining there)?
it a good way to start, but square most be carefull, a lot of great games had been destroyed by unnecesary changes, dissidia seems like a real good bet, but final fantasy is a classic, they shouldn't create a new style for the games but to do special games (like dissidia) is a good bet... hope doesn't happen what happens to megaman dramallama
squall is the most awsomest character
Tengu-chan - Not them games, obviously. I said most.
