I was hoping for Cassandra's return in the game. However, seeing as she'll be nearly 40, she'd have a huge character change, so I'm not exactly looking forward to it...

Also, Patroklos is going to replace her.

I'm somewhat curious to see how this 5 version turns out, because of the new characters, having an expansion from the move list, and game play. Unfortuantely, I couldn't like this series, because I disliked almost all of the characters, except for Setsuka and Hwang, which I would like to see return. My minimum is usually liking at least most characters from this genre, but can be half for an exception. In weapons, I prefer scythe users, but I saw nothing of a minimum likeness from Zasalamel, because his animations were too safe, not unique with it for me.

The character creation mode I believe should be like the example of the third Soul Calibur. The styles of choice that you equipped with your created character I actually liked. They should have that on there and add more styles also. I hope this is not too much, because on Soul Calibur 4, I saw no logic in creating an original character for that reason.

It comes off as common sense, really. Sophitia and Cassandra are inevitably both gone. They would both be a lot older, and with the two new characters... Do you really think they would have four sword-and-shield users who fight almost exactly alike?

Not to mention, it has already been said the game is slated to have around 26 characters, about half of which will be new.

Yaknow what I wish? I wish they'd bring back those bonus characters from 4 like Shura and Kamikirimusi, and give them their own movesets.


With the exceptoin of Angol Fear. Because that was just a recolor of an anime character, no exaggeration.

But I LOVED kamikirimusi, and the clockwork astaroth doll was cool, too.

I admit, I would love to see Shura return with her own style. Twin-katanas could end up a really cool new style for the series.

In gameplay videos that have been shown and in videos where gameplay is visible, Patroklos is shown to have a more masculine version of Cass's style. Pyrrha's seen with a deviation of Sophitia's. It's not outright stated, just observed.

UPDATE!!!!!

This morning, Daishi posted on his Twitter, the new female character! Basic analysis shows that this girl is Taki's replacement!



She seems to be 1 of 2 things. Either...

1. She's not a native of Japan(like Setsuka)
or
2. She was born to a European parent and an Asian parent.

I like this character. <3

She certainly isn't as...well-endowed as Taki, that's a given.

She has pink handles on her daggers! That's just screams 15 - 18 year old. I won't be disappointed if she's not, though.

I like the color scheme. The hair piece is cute and it reminds me of a cherry blossom. It looks like her nails are also painted pink.

This is certainly one of my new favorite characters, aesthetically speaking.

I am unsure how I feel about her... I like the look, but it is a tad underwhelming for me. I like that they went for a 'cute' girl rather than another 'busty, hot' girl (nothing wrong with those, but there have already been so many...)

I am also torn on the idea about her being a Taki-style fighter. On the one hand, I never cared for Taki, so losing her would not bother me much... but Taki is a beloved character for a lot of fans and I think my girlfriend might miss her. On the other-hand, if Taki stays... do we really need two characters who fight in that style?

And Fighters Generation just posted that image as well. They're also speculating on whether this is Taki's replacement.

So are they just just doing a Flintstone Kids with this, or what?

Who ISN'T being replaced with a "Kid" version?

I know Seigfried and Mitsurugi are back, and I'm assuming Ivy will be, (They'll probably make her ageless like Cervantes), guessing Voldo and Astaroth will be back as well, but who else?

We've got a Kid Taki, Kid Sophitia, and Kid Cassandra so far.

Amy and Raphael will probably be back, with Amy being more "mature". Lizardman....maybe.



Any other ideas on who else will be replaced with a "Kid version", and who else will be returning?

Shame. Because putting aside the stolen movesets, pretty much everyone except the Angol Fear character were EXCELLENT additions to the Soul Calibur cast.

I'm hoping for Amy's return. She has been my favorite since 3. Also, although I'm sure he'll be back anyway, Cervantes. That guy is as bad as they come, and I'm sure they'll be bringing him back.
