This is the official SoulCalibur page on facebook.

This is Daishi Odashima's twitter.

This is the official SoulCalibur website.

This is 8WayRun, a SoulCalibur forum. Here is where official information about the game will be posted, including the finished concept art from the official website. Mr. Odashima is known to actually visit 8WR frequently, so if you have anything to contribute, this would be a great place to post.

Here is the page for SoulCalibur V on Fighter's Generation, a website dedicated to the information about games in the Fighting genre. Currently, it has all of the pictures that have been revealed, the teaser trailer and some succinctly summarized information. It's very worth your while and you should definitely take a look.

Thanks to Sifen Yamishi for finding this information and these links!

Confirmed Character List
Patroklos Alexandra:
Growing up by himself, he was unaware of the mission what his mother did to protect him. On top of this, the young boy doesn't know that he has a sister named Pyrrah. At age 17, he now sets out to forge his own tale of souls and swords and possibly find out the truth for himself. He wields a sword and shield like his mother, Sophitia, but has a distinct moveset completely separate from her.

Pyrrah Alexandra:
Abducted at age 3, Pyrrah was influenced by Soul Edge's destructive powers by Tira and since then, she grew up not knowing that there is a family at home in Greece who has been searching for her. Her father Rothion passed away from illness while the rest of the Alexandra family has come across bad fortune. She wields her biological mother's sword and shield, as well as possibly adopting the same moveset as well.

Siegfried Schtauffen:
Wielding the two-handed sword Requiem, Siegfried has come a long way since his first appearance in "Soul Edge", the very first game in the franchise. Previously known as the Azure Knight, Nightmare, he has toiled for years, trying to atone for the many sins he committed, including the murder of his father, Frederick. In "Soul Calibur V", it appears that he has resurrected his old childhood brigand of bandits, Schwarzwind. But for what purpose does he lead them for and what are their intentions?

Heishiro Mitsurugi:
Wielding his katana, Mitsurugi sought to find the ultimate weapon. However, he is known for his quick prowess and lethal skills with the blade. Murdered the master and only family to Setsuka as well as becoming her enemy in the process. What lies ahead for him, this warrior only knows.

Isabella "Ivy" Valentine:
An adopted child whose family fell into ruins when Count Valentine devoted almost every chance he got into investigating the cursed blade, Soul Edge. However, no thanks to her biological father, Cervantes, her soul was nearly consumed by him. She managed survival by utilizing an artificial soul she forged and has since then stopped aging. Wielding her snake sword, Valentine, she hopes to prevent the atrocities of said cursed blade from happening.

Nightmare:
Wielding Soul Edge in the form of Zweihandler, he appears to have obtained a new host for his dark desires. Countless warriors have tried defeating this monstrosity, but have often failed in their journeys. A bit taller and more powerful, fans have two speculations. Either this is Sophitia, fully consumed by the blade, or Kilik, whose curse of the Evil Seed has transformed him given how Dvapara-Yuga is no longer with him. More info has yet to be confirmed on these speculations, given how Soul Edge normally takes on the fighting style as the one possessed by it.

Natsu:
A ninja from the Fu-Ma Clan and a disciple of "Soul" series veteran, Taki, she enters the fray by using the same weaponry style her teacher wields, but with possibly a twist. This sprightly girl harbors a darker side, the demon Arahabaki. Whether she is good or bad has yet to be decided for this 17 year-old.

Z.W.E.I.:
Hailing from what fans speculate to be Germany, not much is known about this mysterious character. There's apparently a werewolf tie to him, given his motif and the beast he summons to the battlefield, E.I.N., his one handed sword brings a rather distinct style for the game itself, but not much is known about him just yet.

Yan Leixia:
The daughter of a general and of an imperial swordswoman, 15 year-old Yan Leixia enters the fray wielding her blade to apparently, forger her own destiny. However, she oddly has a shard of Kilik's necklace, Dvapara-Yuga, supposedly to keep his sanity intact after the Evil Seed rained down. What destiny lies ahead for her and her brother?

Hildegarde Von Krone:
The princess of the Wolfkrone Kingdom, Hildegarde, or Hilde, has gone through a lot in the past 17 years. Her father, the king, who was held at the top of the castle, has since vanished and her kingdom has crumbled. She resides now with the Schwarzwind, Siegfried's group of brigands. Even though she now longer rules, her subjects await their leader's next orders. She wields a trident and short sword, the traditional weaponry style of the Wolfkrone Kingdom. Through these events, she has become a mother, having two children that have been stated to be 'the light of the world'.

Maxi:
A pirate from the Ryuku Kingdom in Japan, he has been bent on revenge, ever since Astaroth slaughtered his crew as well as his brother Kyam in "Soul Calibur". After that fateful day, Maxi traveled with Kilik and Xianghua. However, after a ritual to restore his health, he has since lost the memories of both of them, due to a fragment of Soul Edge being used in said ritual. If he aged normally, he would be 45. Now, it appears that aging has been rendered useless because of the fragment. Maxi wields only one nunchaku for his fighting style.

Tira:
Raised in the Bird of Passage, killing was all she knew to do. However, when the Evil Seed rained down, it was dissolved. Now, Tira has pledged her loyalty to Nightmare, harvesting souls to please her master. She was the one responsible kidnapping Pyrrah in "Soul Calibur IV" and for manipulating several of the cast into pursuing after Soul Edge. Wielding a ringblade along with two very distinct personalities, this assassin is ready to kill again.

Voldo:
The guardian for the merchant, Vercci, Voldo's proven time and time again how loyal he is by chasing after the dark blade over the course of the series. Wielding two katars and having a unique fighting style, he is often seen as a servant of the evil sword by those who pursue Soul Edge, in hopes of destroying it. In this installment, it appears that he has been infected with said blade...

Taki:
Wielding the blades Rekki-Maru and Mekki-Maru, she has been known as a 'Demon Huntress', defeating Cervantes de Leon as well as others who chase after Soul Edge. She is also the one who drew the shards of Soul Edge out of Sophitia's injured body once fleeing the battle against the pirate in "Soul Edge". Team Soul has confirmed her for "Soul Calibur V", but it has not yet been confirmed on whether she will be playable or not.

Astaroth:
A golem created by the cult Kunpaetku to serve them, he wields the axe Kulutues as a harbinger of destruction in his wake. The one responsible for slaying Kyam, Maxi's sworn brother, he has become the object of hatred and revenge for the sailor since then. However, after "Soul Calibur" this gargantuan beast has severed all ties to Kunpaetku and served Nightmare. Supposedly the rival of Nathaniel "Rock" Adams.

Viola:
Not much is known about this mystery girl, except that fans have speculated on how this is merely Amy in disguise. Wielding a claw on one hand and attacking her opponents with what seems to be jewel summons, she appears to be an ally of Z.W.E.I. from what has been given so far.

Ezio Auditore:
Questing for vengeance after his father and two brothers were executed, he was formally unaware of his lineage as an assassin. After donning on the garb that was originally his father's, Ezio swore to avenge their name. Along the way, he helped liberate Rome from the Templars as well. What lies ahead for him? An unhappy ending or a fairy tale romance?

Raphael Sorel:
Born into French nobility, he grew up learning about swordplay at a young age. However, this caused him to make many enemies in the process. Unfortunately, he killed off a noble during the Evil Seed's rain, causing him noble to be cast out and hunted down like a fugitive. Whilst being pursued, it was when he found Amy and adopted her as his own daughter. The timeframe of these events eventually led him to find Soul Edge and its wielder, Nightmare. After being nearly defeated, he managed to pierce its eye, causing Siegfried to restore to normalcy. Tragically, he and Amy became infected with his malicious blade and became malfested. Entering the battle for a 4th battle, is his intent on defeating the one wielding the 'Holy Stone' still on his mind?

Lord Geo Damipierre:
A French con artist under the guise of many illusions to the public, he sought after the accursed blade Soul Edge, as a means for paying many debts that were racked up. Telling a somber story of an 'ill-fated daughter', Dampierre won sympathy and luxuries, two things that were desired. Not much is really known about him, only that his lies and tricks are as snarky as his fighting style.

Aeon:
A former human turned into a pseudo-lizardman, Aeon now roams the land looking for his lost soul. In the 17 years since the events of SoulCalibur IV, he's been granted wings, but his mind and desires have become more primal, evident by his use of 2 small axes, which were at one time a sword and short sword. He thinks to himself in English, but can only "speak" in growls and snarls.

IT'S HERE and, well, has been here since, like.....January 31st. O3o But yeah, Feel free to speculate about non-confirmed stuff, like Viola's background, why Kilik is like Edge Master, etc...

Why would they show his ending if it wasn't cannon!?

Well, I think Sophitia's ending was the canon one, considering that her children were safe for 17 years, hence Patroklos being the main character in SCV, and Siegfried is still alive.

I'm pretty sure it was too. But they used last slash scene and quotes from Siegfried's ending.
How are they trying to explain that?

Probably that crap where each character is on a parallel like different versions of the same story.

I think I may have figured it out, however this is unlikely:

When Sophitia reached the top of the tower, Algol had already retrieved Soul Edge and Soul Calibur and created an alternate dimension which Sohitia entered. When she destroyed Soul Edge with Soul Calibur, the alternate dimension was dispersed, Siegfried was freed from the crystals, and the two went their separate ways.

But wait, If the endings occur in that way, In Siegfried's ending when he turns himself into crystal, he also turns nightmare and the soul edge into crystal. Not only that but she fights nightmare and Siegfried defeating theme both meaning they never have their decisive battle which also means that Siegfried wouldn't have his heart to heart with nightmare nor be able to turn both of them into crystal...

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Dammit, now I don't know how to explain it.

I guess we'll have to wait until the game is released or if Daishi himself explains it.
Regardless of these plot holes, I'm really excited. They've said that they realized that SC4 was the worst game in the series and in terms of gameplay and everything, they're going back to the roots of the series. And they're also gonna be fixing up Character Creation quite a bit since they were unaware of how popular that feature would be(no idea why).

But what sucks for me is: I'm a very impatient person. So far all we've gotten is some game and story info, a teaser trailer, a couple concept arts, and I'm already impatient. This is gonna be a looooooong year for me ._.

If the two main 'new' comers are both wielding Sword and Shield... does that mean they got rid of Sophitia and Cassandra, or did they... actually give us four characters with the same style? o_o;

Well, go to the facebook page. Every time there's a new concept art on the official website, someone happens to find the finished one somewhere and posts it.

They most likely got rid of Sophitia and Cass, unfortunately.

NOTICE: I HAVE PUT A NEW LINK IN THE OP.

That... sucks. It might actually hurt the game's success a bit, considering how long-lasting those characters are with the series. I mean hell, Sophitia has been around since the first game. What series drops a character who has been there since the first game?

It bothers me mostly because Sophitia is not only my favorite character in the series, but my main and the character I am best with. If Soph and Cass are gone... I just hope like hell Soph's son and daughter play close enough to her, and are likable enough, to replace her appropriately.

But so far her son looks like a bit of a douche...

Lots of new information!

Electronic Gaming Monthly has an interview with Daishi, Hisaharu Tago(series producer), and one question is asked to the Senior Visual Director. Read the full interview here.

Kotaku has put out an article confirming Ivy. It's fairly short, so I'll post it here.

"Well, first, we should get this out of the way: recurring Soulcalibur fighter Ivy will be in Soulcalibur V, producer Hisaharu Tago says, with the increasingly underdressed fan favorite to be revealed at some point soon. So I wondered "What will Ivy look like as a 49-year-old?"

Since Soulcalibur V takes place 17 years after the last chapter, that puts Ms. Valentine into middle-aged territory. Would it mean a more modestly dressed Ivy? Would the ravages of time have an impact on her vast... sex appeal? Tago offered some clues about what an Ivy Valentine pushing 50 might look like.

He implied that some unspecified mystical force, perhaps the power of the Soul Edge itself, might have an effect on her ability to return her youthful looks—her father, Cervantes, after all, stopped aging completely at 48. Tago also hinted that a plot point in a previous Soulcalibur game might explain what sounds to be a still youthful-looking Ivy.

So somethings may change in Soulcalibur V with those passing years, but some may stay firmly the same."

Last, but not least, on facebook, there are 3 new concept art pictures of Mitsu, Patroklos, and Pyrrha. Here are the pictures.

Well, discuss, discuss, discuss!!
Soul Calibur 2 was the last good one and I don't expect that to change.
