I personally like it, the game play is smoother, better character creation, the unlock system is a lot more better than the standard of using gold as a currency. I don't feel that upset over the characters that did not make a come back, but I'm glad that those who did make it back have been reverted the to their speed of the Soul Calibur 2 days.

I personally like it. There's some things I don't like, like the lack of a gallery (for videos and stuff) and the story mode was just... short, especially when compared to other Namco games like Tekken.

However, the gameplay is addicting and I do like some of the new characters, like Leixia and Natsu. The CAS is truly amazing. I just need to unlock more equipment to use it to its fullest (of course).

I absolutely adore the game; the ending to the story made me cry .__.
However, it irks me in ways you couldn't believe. Not the game itself, just Nightmare. I can't seem to beat him in Legendary Souls. I've only tried about six times, but I don't want to go back just to lose to him again :c

The only thing I hate about this game is the cheap a** AI that is so ungodly fast.

I love the CaS system in this one, so much crazy stuff you can do :O The new styles are awesome, I just love Viola's. <3 Most of the trophys are okay to get, but the online ranking ones will be a problem for me because I are teh fail and there's a million people online who know every mechanics of this game already I'm sure of that ._.

Oh and it's dumb, but I love how you can the character portait card thingy for you're character biggrin You can do pretty awesome stuff with that biggrin

By far the best in the series, but not without its problems. My girlfriend and I got it the first day.

Overall, I'm let down by the total lack of story for most of the new characters, no character endings, a horribly cheap AI, and the gameplay being fairly unbalanced.

I don't mind the loss of most of the characters who didn't return. If I wanted to play as them, I'd play one of the older games. I will say it was harsh for me to see Sophitia go, but her replacement actually ended up preferred to me, and her having a 'cameo' in the game was all I really wanted.

It sort of baffles me they all-together left out Zasalamel, Talim, and Yun-Seong. All the other characters got some sort of replacement for their style, but these three are just left out in the cold.

However... DLC could potentially fix all the problems this game has.

I love the game so far. I've been playing Soul Calibur for years and they finally added some depth to the gameplay with Brave Edge and Critical Edge. Nightmare has been my main character for awhile.

The only thing I dislike is the fact that they left out Talim. :/ She was my favorite character in the other games, and it sucks to see her out of the game. I'm hoping to replace her with one of the newer characters. Also, I heard character creation is really good.

Is it worth the $60, or should I wait for a price drop?

I only play solo in fighting games to clear everything and unlock characters. XD

But that's good to hear. I already liked Soul Calibur IV's character creator, so I'm looking forward to this. My girlfriend and her little sister seem like they're having fun creating characters... And this makes me want it even more.

Honestly the game did dissapoint me in some ways. Yes the plot did have some holes, but I enjoyed it (this is where fanon kicks in and fills in said plot holes lol). I am dissapointed that some of my favorite characters got axed, but I do like most of the new characters. I currently play as (from most to least): Tira, Ezio, Pyrrha, Pyrrha Omega, and Patroklos. I never liked Xianghua because I always found her VA, Wendee Lee rather annoying. And the Soul series is one of the few fighting games that emphasizes storyline, whereas fighting game such as Street Fighter, MvC, and Mortal Kombat has a poorly drawn up plot, or no plot at all. But overall i greatly enjoyed Soul Calibur V.

When I look out there...

If you have seen the amount of haters, then you are well aware that Sung Mina isn't in Soul Calibur 5, but regardless it is a great game.
