Mk, so I'm an incoming freshman at north Eugene high school. and my passion is to be a designer and i want to wear the part but i dont want everyone to think I'm crazy. so help me out do any of you think this style {probably a lot more toned down} would suit high school or should i just wear the norm, abercrombie sweatshirts and ripped jeans. keep in mind i DO wanna stand out but not in a bad way.

Definitely not a good idea for high school, or college for that matter besides a dress and the jacket.
Wearing heels or too many accessories just gets in the way and would be uncomfortable with sitting in class for 6 hours.
Also the length on the last one would break the finger tip rule.

Wear it if it makes you happy, but you will stand out quite a bit since nobody really dresses up actually for school. The thing where everyone dresses perfectly all the time is just a myth.

I would absolutely go for it. There's nothing innapropiate about it, nor anything to call you out on. I for one, respect those who will truly be themselves with their style and be creative. Just make sure you feel comfortable. It's all about if you're happy.

That kind of style would definitely be accepted in my school. You'd stand out, but probably in a good way. You can't be shy when you dress so loudly, though. Make sure you're confident enough to deal with the attention it might get you.

I would definitely tone down the accessories, and see if you can find flats that fit the style you're looking for. High heels are not at all practical for any kind of school, especially high school, where you're going to be running around between classes. You'll probably be fine with heels under an inch and a half, but past that, it's going to get uncomfortable on stairs, when you're in a hurry, or in crowded hallways.

people at my school wouldn't think you odd. I never personally liked wearing heels to school on a regular basis, though. it's fun every once in a while, but gets painful even though you'll be sitting down a lot.

I think people will admire and respect your style, even if they think you're a little bit crazy for bothering to dress up every day. Go for it.

I love everything you have there. Go for it, don't worry so much about what other people think.

EDIT: I mean, the Sarah Jessica Parker one wouldn't be that hard to throw together, I already have a shirt like that myself. Just find some cute flats instead of heals like other ppl suggested. smile

it seems too dressy for school, but it's all pretty cute. good taste. : D i, personally wouldn't dress up like that to school, maybe just out with friends.

Hmmmm. This is a toughie. I, too, am into Fashion Design. I like to make my own clothes, etc. And I like to put things together in interesting ways. I think you should dress however you're comfortable. I stress comfortable because if you are not entirely comfortable in your own skin, you will get your skin peeled off of you. We high schoolers can be mean and judgmental. I have had loads of difficulties over this past year with my style (I am a comfy blend of Gothic/Lolita/Aristocrat/Emo/Scene/...WTF? depending on my mood and what I have on hand), and have had to learn new techniques on how to deal with losers who insist on picking you to pieces. Like ignoring them. Smiling and walking by. Counting to 10. x.x It's torture. But if you really want to show your style, start practicing now.

I would like to give you another warning....copious amounts of accesories. Yesh, loads of fun....but loads of problems. You have to keep them on all day--and keep track of them! With practice, it's a cinch, but at first it's tres difficult to write, walk, sit, movie in general. Especially if you use bells. Then everyone looks at you, and wonders if you're insane.
Accessories are also bad for PE. If you have to change...or just do PE in them.....doom.

You're style looks like it is more toned down, and should be easy to blend with the high school culture, I'd just suggest being prepared to be confronted by narrow-minded people, and avoid high-heels.

try it out even thoug i see you getting a little lazy after a while and try not to dress up as much. Like many people said highschoolers dont dress up much often.

I love it. I find the clash and contrast of all the eclectic colors and textures pleasing and intriguing to the eye. It's an interesting style.
In particular, I think the last outfit is very chic. (Also, I happen to love Sarah Jessica... : D)
