I think you've got a bit of a plothole there, Sedia. If I got it right, as a vampire,
because she is in the land of the dead, your character cannot die, but then as a human, she can? Try explaining that better - maybe it has to do with your world's vampire mythology? - and you might find more interesting consequences through that.
As a living being (before she became a vamp) in a land of the dead she can actually die yes because she never died in the first place to get there. The "world" is Ultima Online (and vamps are normal vamps) and as a game, people can resurrect when they die... and being set in Valhalla like my server was, that was pretty easy to explain away.
Life in Valhalla is just a continuation of earthly life except you have died and gone to another plain so to speak. When your already dead you can't die again but since Sedia never died in the first place, no matter where she happens to be, she can. And its not that she can't die because she is
in a land of the dead, but rather because she truly
died in a land of the dead.
Being in a land of the dead means you should be dead but if your not and you die there, it screws things up
