True, you want some escape from reality, but at the same time you want to keep some intelligence and not barf your brains out every other sentence because the MC can't stop mary-sueing it to the max. I never imagine characters how the author describes them anyway, e.g. always imagined Edward Cullen to look like Jackson Rathbone as Jasper Cullen in the movies

lol exactly, intelligence should be required for fanfiction writers...I think that would severely diminish our numbers though whee

No they were responding to a post I made about wanting to see my "ugly" (not hideous but you know what I mean...) OC's rather than "plain but still pretty" which is the cliche of the century when it comes to OC appearances.

I know, its really sad and I have no idea why. People are just stuck on the idea of the super model as a "plain but pretty" person lol I love people who say that and then link to a picture of some super sexy model.... rolleyes
