*grin* I'd love it. Let me post up the next chapter first. That one I've rewritten pretty heavily. The world may be unfamiliar, but well, anyone should be able to tell me if I've gone out of the realm of telling a story and gotten too technical. sweatdrop I spent a lot of hours looking for information on Forgotten Realms and trying to figure out how to put this together following cannon. I know what I have works technically, but I'm a bit afraid that it will be a boring read.

I should have that next one up within the week. Just as soon as I finish making all the major corrections due to plot adjustments that I need!

haHA! Did it! It is shorter but pretty much all of it was re-written and heavily, heavily edited to fit the fact that I altered the logistics behind all of this.

I seriously don't know why they think we wont notice that kind of stuff, especially if it is a popular book series. It is rather annoying when I see inconsistencies and bad facts in books. What are editors there for if they just decide not to correct something.

But returning to fanfiction, my absolute biggest pet peeve has to be when a character suddenly starts speaking a foreign language that the author obviously has no knowledge of. (And I'm not talking about the random insertion of foreign expressions in the middle of the text - though that's incredibly annoying as well.) Why, oh why, don't they just make up some gibberish rather than butcher that poor language to shreds?! It's bad enough what they do to English, which they supposedly have been speaking their whole lives...

I hate when anime fanfics have random phrases of Japanese. If the fanfiction is written in English people shouldn't throw in some random butchered phrase of Japanese. I should not have to translate someones story to understand it. I don't speak Japanese and even if I did it still ruins the enjoyment of the story if I spend half the time trying to figure out what the characters are saying. I have no idea why fanfic authors think it makes their story more "authentic".

I hate when anime fanfics have random phrases of Japanese. If the fanfiction is written in English people shouldn't throw in some random butchered phrase of Japanese. I should not have to translate someones story to understand it. I don't speak Japanese and even if I did it still ruins the enjoyment of the story if I spend half the time trying to figure out what the characters are saying. I have no idea why fanfic authors think it makes their story more "authentic".

That too, but for some reason the times it bugs me most are when the character itself is a foreigner in relation to the others and the author decides that it's a good idea to have him speak Spanish/Latin/French/Japanese/etc. but obviously doesn't know the slightest bit about that language. Kids, Babelfish is not your friend! >_<

I feel your pain, except Grammar, and spelling aren't my friend. They seem to have alluded me in my nineteen years of life. XD I go through a dozen drafts of something before I am ready to post it, or turn it in. Though that is more because the people who edit my work are perfectionists.
