Every year in each region on the same day four people start their pokemon adventure. These aren't the only ones. Many other people start their adventure with a stray they encountered and took care of, or a gift from the family. The four main people will start in one city in each region. From Pallet. From Newbark. From Littleroot. Or from Sandgem. These trainers are given one of the three starter pokemon, or if they're late will receive an electric pokemon. They set out to get all eight gym badges, then go to the pokemon league and train there. Then a preliminary tournament chooses four trainers to face the elite four, and the current champion. These four trainers, if victorious, will go down in the Kanto Pokemon League Hall of Fame forever.

Jason Williams: Male, 14 years of age.
Jason used to live on a large property in the outskirts of Violet City with much of his extended family. He started his journey in Johto, then changed his mind and headed to Kanto.
His starter was a female Charmander that he named Sal. She has a rash nature and the ability blaze. She knows the moves scratch, growl, ember, metal claw, and smokescreen.
On route one he caught a male Pidgey that he named Scar. He has an adamant nature and the ability keen eye. He knows the moves tackle, sand attack, gust, quick attack, and whirlwind.
In Viridian forest he caught a male Beedrill that he named Horn. He has a hasty nature and the ability swarm. He knows the moves poison sting, fury attack, focus energy, twineedle.
In Viridian Forest he caught a female Butterfree that he named Freedom. She has a gentle nature and the ability compound eyes. She knows the moves tackle, confusion, poison powder, stun spore, sleep powder, and supersonic.
On route three he caught a male Nidoking that he named Nodo. He has a jolly nature and the ability poison point. He knows the moves peck, leer, focus energy, double kick, horn attack.
In Mount Moon he caught a female Zubat that he named Gabriella. She has a quiet nature and the ability Inner Focus. She knows the moves leech life, astonish, supersonic, bite and wing attack.

Cael Schmidt: Male, 14 years of age.
Cael's father is a scientist who barely has time for him or his sister. They lived well on Cinnabar, but barely stayed there due to their many vacation homes they would spend time in. Cael and Cali were given boat tickets to Vermillion and train tickets to Pallet for their fourteenth birthday.
His starter was a male Squirtle that he named Quirrel. He has a relaxed nature and the ability torrent. He knows the moves tackle, tail whip, bubble, withdraw, water gun, and bite.
On route one he caught a female Pidgey that he named Deux. She has a timid nature and the ability keen eye. She knows the moves tackle, sand attack, gust, quick attack, and whirlwind.
In Viridian Forest he caught a male Beedrill that he named Slasher. He has an adamant nature and the ability swarm. He knows the moves poison sting, fury attack, focus energy, twineedle.
On route three he caught a male Mankey that he named Doc. He has an adamant nature and the ability vital spirit. He knows the moves scratch, leer, low kick, karate chop, fury swipes, and focus energy.
On route three he caught a male Spearow that he named Vear. He has a hasty nature and the ability keen eye. He knows the moves peck, growl, leer, fury attack, and pursuit.
In Mount Moon he caught a male Geodude that he named Trock. He has an adamant nature and the ability rock head. He knows the moves tackle, defense curl, mud sport, rock throw, magnitude, and self destruct.

Cali Schmidt: Female, 14 years of age.

On route three she caught a female Jigglypuff that she named Fuff. She has a sassy nature and the ability cute charm. She knows the moves sing, defense curl, pound, disable, and rollout.

Samantha Jones: Female, 14 years of age.
Samantha's family is rich due to her father being a doctor and mother being a lawyer. She lived in a mansion in the small location of lavender town. She attended pokemon school until age 13 she decided she wanted to experience it first-hand.
Her starter was a female Pikachu that she named Rache. She has a hasty nature and the ability static. She knows the moves thunder shock, growl, tail whip, thunderwave, quick attack, double team, and slam.
One route one she caught a male Rattata that she named Ratta. She has a hasty nature and the ability guts. He knows the moves tackle, tail whip, quick attack, hyper fang, and focus energy.
In viridian forest she caught a male Butterfree that she named Charlie. He has a modest nature and the ability compound eyes. He knows the moves tackle, confusion, poison powder, stun spore, sleeping powder, and supersonic.
On route three she caught a female Nidoqueen that she named Nidi. She has a brave nature and the ability poison point. She knows the moves scratch, growl, tail whip, double kick, and bite.
In Mount Moon she caught a female Paras that she named Poppy. She has a mild nature and the ability effect spore. She knows the moves scratch, stun spore, poisonpowder, and leech life.

Calvin Miller: Male, 9 years of age.
Calvin has lived in a family of pokemon lovers in Viridian city. He dreams of becoming a pokemon master. His dreams finally came true to an extent when his mother let him go with Cael, Cali, Samantha, and Jason IF his sister agreed she wanted to go to, and luckily enough, she did.
From his father he got a male Sandshrew that he named Samshrew. He has a bashful nature and the ability sand veil. He knows the moves scratch and defense curl.
On route one he caught a male Rattata that he named Mattata. He has a hasty nature and the ability run away. He knows the moves tackle, tail whip, and quick attack.

Galina Miller: Female, 14 years of age.
Galina has lived in a family of pokemon lovers in Viridian city. She has always loved the city life, but her brother wants to go on an adventure, and her mother will only let him go if she goes with him, so she has decided for his sake she'll join.
From her mother she got a female Jigglypuff that she named Wiggs. She has a sassy nature and the ability cute charm. She knows the moves sing, defense curl, and pound.
From her father she got a male Diglett that she named Diggs. He has a timid nature and the ability arena trap. He knows the moves scratch, sand attack, and growl.

Chapter 1: Ready, Set, Go!

Four people stepped out of professor Oak's lab. They had just got their first pokemon. Cael Schmidt chose a squirtle that he named Quirrel. Cali Schmidt named her new bulbasaur Dee. Jason Williams chose a Charmander that he named Sal. Samantha Jones named her pikachu Rache, and they now were ready to begin their journey.

Jason Williams was tall for his age, standing at 6'2". His hair was short, straight, and brown. He was thin, with a little bit of muscle. He wore blue jeans, old sneakers, and a white t-shirt. He walked into the tall grass, which went up to his knees, and started walking along.

"Pidge pidge!" A noise came from next to him. He looked over to see a rustle in the grass. He released Sal.

"Sal, use scratch!" The Charmander charged forward and clawed at the pidgey. The wild pidgey wafted a cloud of sand up into the air. "Sal, jump to the left!" Jason's instruction luckily dodged a tackle. The sand started to settle. "Sal, use scratch again!" The Charmander jumped forward and scratched across the pidgey's face, knocking it out. "Good job, Sal!"

Char, char! Charmander! Jason brought Sal back into her pokeball. He continued and saw a Rattata. He let Sal back out. "Sal, scratch!" The young Charmander charged forward, and scratched across the Rattata's face. It was caught of guard, and Sal got a critical hit, one hitting the rat pokemon.

"Good hit." Jason said, rubbing the pokemon's head. He kept the pokemon out, figuring the pokeball couldn't be too comfortable, and she was just going to be sent back out. He kept walking and quickly ran into another pidgey. "All right Sal, we'll try to catch this one!" He said. "Use scratch!" The pokemon scratched across the pidgey's face, and a cut went over the bird's eye. It started bleeding badly. It threw up sand with it's wings and tried to run away, but Jason threw a pokeball. The pokeball shook around vigorously until it slowly grew steady. The button flashed red and Jason smiled at his success.

He picked up the pokeball and opened it up. The bird was barely conscious, and bleeding badly. He took a cotton swab and placed it over the pidgey's eye. He took a bandage and wrapped it around the pidgey's head to keep the swab pressed to the cut. "Sorry 'bout that." Jason thought for a second. "Scar." He then stepped into Viridian city, and walked to the pokemon center to heal his pokemon.

Char? CHAR! With the louder exclamation a small burst of flame shot from Sal's mouth.

"Hm. You learned ember." Jason gave a happy smile. He walked up to the counter and gave Sal and Scar to nurse Joy. "Please heal my pokemon for me." Nurse Joy took Jason's pokemon and brought them into the back room.

Cael and Cali stood side by side, looking more confident than they felt. Their pokemon were in front of them, quietly waiting for something to happen. Cael and Cali walked into the tall grass.

Cael stood at 5'10". He had mid-neck length gray-ish colored hair. He had three scars across his cheek, like scratch marks. They were in fact from his family's pet Eevee. Her mom loved eevees and had an eevee, a jolteon, a vaporeon, and a flareon. Their mother was never very original with nicknames, and they were named Eve, Jolt, Vapor, and Flare. They were always told to take one with them when they left home. Cael and Eve had never gotten along, and when Cali insisted Cael take Eve to help them bond, Eve scratched Cael's face, resulting in said Scars. He currently wore black Converse, black jeans, and a black and grey striped hoodie.

Cali was 5'. She had long, wavy, golden-brown hair. She had big, blue eyes, and wore a pale green dress, with the same color tights, jacket, parasol, and wide-brim hat. She wore black buckled shoes and a small red-pink hair clip to push her hair out of her face.

They headed through the grass for a minute or so and then saw a Rattata and a Pidgey quarreling. Apparently they thought the trainers were a larger threat than each other because they both looked away from the fight to watch Cael and Cali carefully.

"Quirrel, use tail whip on the Rattata!" Cael called. The Squirtle wagged its tail. The Rattata's defense went down slightly while the Rattata used tackle at Quirrel. "Quirrel, dodge!" The squirtle turned around and cowered in terror. The Rattata hit dead on, knocking the squirtle down, though it's high defense stat made the Rattata do little damage.

"Dee! Tackle!" Cali called. With it's defense lowered and it's focus on Quirrel, the Rattata was unprepared for the attack, getting knocked out. The pidgey charged forward, tackling at Quirrel and Dee, who had gotten a bit too close to each other, and were both hit somewhat.

"Quirrel, tackle!"
"Dee, tackle!" Cael and Cali said in unison. The two pokemon rammed at the pidgey from opposite sides, knocking it out. Cael used a potion on Quirell, then they continued on. They soon saw two pidgey next to each other, playing and eating. "Dee, tackle." Cali whispered to Dee. Dee charged forward, tackling one pidgey.

"Quirrel, the other one!" The squirtle tackled the other pidgey.

"Dee!" Cali tried to warn Dee, but Dee was hit dead on by a tackle from the first Pidgey. The other pidgey started going towards Dee as well, but on a spur of the moment decision Cael threw a pokeball. It wobbled. . . wobble. . .

"Dee, tackle back!" Wobble. . . Dee charged at the first pidgey, which used sand attack, making Dee miss. Wobble. . .

"Quirell! Tackle!" Quirrel hit the pidgey knocking it out and: DING! Cael had caught the pidgey. He picked up the pokeball. "I think I'll call you. . ." Cael paused. "Deux." Cali gave Cael a blunt look. "I likes me mah frenches." Cael said, using horrible grammar on purpose. Cali gave a chuckle and the pair continued on.

They encountered two Rattata. "Quirrel, use tail whip!" One of the Rattata's had its defense lowered.

"Dee! Tackle!" Dee charged at the one Quirrel had used tail whip on, but before it reached it, the much faster Rattata ran away.

"Quirrel, return!" Cael returned Quirrel, sending out Deux. The Rattata used tackle on Dee, but Dee dodged. "Deux, sand attack!" The Pidgey looked confused. "You're Deux!" Cael called out. The pidgey kept the confused look. Cael face-palmed. Then it whipped sand into the Rattata's face with it's wing. "Pidge!"

"Dee, tackle!" Dee rammed into the rattata, which tackled back, but missed. Cali threw a pokeball. It wobbled a few times and. . . DING! Cali smiled and laughed. She sent out her rattata, and Cael let out Quirrel again as they entered Viridian. Quirell and Deux walked obediently at Cael's sides, while Dee walked behind Cali and Cali held the Rattata. "I'm gonna call you Adgie." Cali said.

"Adgie?" Cael asked.

"Adgie." Cali gave a confident nod. Quirrel and Dee started circling each other. A seed shot at Quirell, while a burst of bubbles shot at Dee. The seed stabbed into Quirrel and sucked out his energy. "No, Quirell is a FRIEND." Cali said, picking up Dee.

"Umm, Cali?" Cael asked.

"What?"

"You do realize they just learned new moves, right?"

"Really? YAY! Good job Dee!"

"Good job Quirrel." They walked into the pokemon center.

As the twins approached nurse Joy spoke before they did. "Would you like to heal your pokemon?"

"Yes please."
"Yes please." The twins said in unison. Nurse Joy chuckled and took their pokemon into the back room to be healed.

"Hello." Came a voice unfamiliar to the twins. They turned to see the boy who chose the charmander that morning.

"Hello." Cael said, walking over and sitting on the sofa next to Jason and giving a content sigh as he leaned back and closed his eyes.

"Hi." Cali said, sitting down as well and closing her parasol.

"Cael and Cali, right?" Jason asked.

"Yep."
"Yep." The twins said in unison.

"Jason." After that there was a looooong pause in the conversation as they simply enjoyed the air conditioned room with the nice comfortable sofa.

Samantha Jones stood very short, at 4'10". She was skinny, and had straight, shoulder-blade length, brown hair. She had big, brown, eyes, filled with the innocence of early childhood. Her personality totally conflicted with what her eyes conveyed. She wore a red skirt that went down to lightly above her knee-caps with a black sleeveless t-shirt. She wore black vans with red and purple polka-dots and a big red bow in her hair.

She waded through the tall grass. She felt a tickle in her nose and stopped covering mouth. She let out a loud sneeze, and a startled pidgey attacked. "Ach!" She threw the pokeball to the ground, releasing her pikachu. "Rache, thundershock!"

"Piii!" ZAAP! The electricity was super effective against the flying type, defeating it in one hit. Samantha gave the pikachu a pat on the head. "Pika!" A few rustles in the grass pointed out the Pidgey, inching towards Samantha and Rache.

"Again!" ZAP! One-hit. Again. The pidgey looked kinda pathetic, and Samantha felt kind of sorry for it. They kept walking in silence. As they heard the sounds of the city nearby; "Ratta!" It tackled Rache and they started rolling around the ground.

"Rache! Thundershock!" Rache just wagged her tail, using tail whip.

"Pi!"
"Ratta!" The two rodents ran around each other and Samantha laughed.
"Do you wanna join Rache and me?" Samantha asked the Rattata.
"Ratta!" It gave a quick nod.
"Well I'll call you that. Ratta." Samantha pat the Rattata's head. Samantha headed into town and into the pokemon center.
"Would you like to heal your pokemon?" Nurse Joy asked.
"No thank you, their fine." Samantha said simply.

End Chapter 1

[Le Marquis de Noir]

Chapter 2: AAAAAGH!

"Are you sure about that miss?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Okay, you can check them but I really don't think they're hurt at all." Samantha handed Nurse Joy Rache and Ratta. Nurse Joy smiled and took them into the back, then a few minutes later she says, "Jason Williams, Samantha Jones, your pokemon are ready." She gave them their pokemon back. There were many other people here in Viridian, some were starting their journeys with family pets who lived in Viridian or Pallet. A growlithe here, a Meowth there. They stepped out of the building to see many people in black uniforms with red 'R's. There were six of them.

All of the rockets had gasoline and were pouring it all over the building. Then on of them lit a match and threw it down. Jason was shocked, and he finally ran inside to see the exchange of the twins getting their pokemon back. "Some people are lighting the building on fire! We need to get out!" He yelled. Samantha was close behind him. She didn't look shocked at all. She wasn't really calm looking at all. She looked utterly pissed off.

Nurse Joy looked out the window. "It's team rocket! Everyone get your pokemon!" The whole building was frantic. People were running everywhere. They walked out as Cael, Cali, and Samantha all ran out. The fire was really blazing now, and one older, slightly, um. . . heavier woman was separated from her pokemon. Jason returned his pokemon to their pokeballs to protect them and he vaulted over the counter and ran through the door there. He sprinted through smoldering wreckages and blazing fire and grabbed all the pokemon he could find.

He grabbed a horsea, a poliwag, a meowth, a diglett, a venonat, a jigglypuff, a sandshrew and a rattata. "Lady! Get OUT OF HERE!" He yelled over the roar and crackle of the flames. He started struggling for oxygen, and he realized the lady couldn't be doing much better. He turned around to see she had collapsed. With the pokemon in one arm he tried to drag the lady. It was a very slow process, but after a few minutes of sweating and struggling for breath he got the lady and the pokemon out of the fire. After a minute of crying and panting she said, "Thank you for saving my pokemon!" She took the Horsea, Poliwag, Meowth, and then suddenly grabbed them all and ran. A small child who'd been crying when Jason had come out now started bawling even harder.

The woman threw off her jacket and dropped her pants, throwing off his mask and wig as well. He was dressed in a rocket uniform underneath. "Hahahaa! FOOLS!" He yelled.

Between breaths of air and shaking sobs the child said, "That sandshrew and rattata are mine, and the others are my sister's and my mom's!" He then started bawling again.

"Kid, I promise, I'll get them back for you." Jason said between deep breaths of air.

"Jason, you have to rest!" Samantha said. The four new trainers were getting to know each other a bit better.

"No. I have to help this kid." Jason said, a determined look on his face. He then ran off towards where the rocket went. Just outside of town was a small blimp with a net with all the pokemon in it. Samantha, Cael, Cali, and the boy and girl from earlier chased after him to help him. He sent out Sal. "Sal, cut open the blimp, then cut the net open with scratch!" Chaos was all around him, his helpers, other bystanders, rocket members, but he was intent on his goal. Sal ripped open the blimp, but as she fell down towards the net to rip it open as well, an Exeggcute rammed into her, then slammed into her two more times.

"I can't let you do that." A rocket member said.

"Sal, it's a grass type, use ember!" In a small fireball the Exeggcute was unconscious.

Let's see you do that to my flying type! Go, Spearow! The rocket member threw a pokeball revealing just that, a spearow.

"Scratch!" The charmander jumped at the spearow and scratched, but only a tad too late as the Spearow jumped back.

"Spearow, leer!" Charmander's defense was lowered.

"Sal, ember this time!" The small fireball shot from Sal's mouth, hit the spearow, dealt damage, and inflicting a burn.

"Spearow, use frustration!" Red energy built up in the spearow and then it shot forward in a tackle, but the red energy exploded out, dealing extra damage, but the spearow then gave a cry of pain from it's burn.

"Sal, return, go Scar!" Scar came out of his pokeball in a flash of red light.

"Spearow peck!" Scar took the hit bravely and tackled the spearow, knocking it out.

"Good job, Scar!" Jason said. He pat the bird on the head and it cooed with happiness. Then one more rocket member approached him.

"I got this guy. Go get the pokemon." Samantha said, stepping between Jason and the rocket. Jason nodded. He sent Sal back out and returned Scar to go retrieve the pokemon.

"All right girly, let's do a double battle." The man smirked and threw out two pokeballs. In a flash of light there was a Mankey and a Zubat. Samantha said nothing, and simply opened a pokeball with each hand, revealing Rache and Ratta. "Bad choice."

Meh, only half a bad choice, and even then it's the only choice I have, p***k. Samantha thought. "Rache, thundershock on the zubat! Ratta, tackle the mankey!" The zubat was destroyed before the rocket even got to give it an order.

"Mankey, dodge and use low kick!" The mankey was very close to failing at dodging the quick rattata, but no matter how close it was, he still dodged. He kicked at Ratta.

"Ratta, dodge, then tail whip." Ratta made a quick jump to the side and then used tail whip. "Rache, it's defense is low, finish with thundershock!" The mankey was down for the count. "Also, if we meet again, I don't like being called 'girly'."

"See if you're still smiling once my friends fight you." Sure enough, two more people were running up behind the rocket.

"We challenge you to a double battle!" One said. She noticed the people had two pokemon each. Four total.

"That wouldn't exactly be fair." Cael said as he stepped up behind Samantha's left shoulder.
"Would it?" Cali said as she stepped up behind Samantha's right shoulder. They stepped in front of Samantha. Stepping out from Cael and Cali came Dee and Quirrel.

"Damn it." One rocket muttered. Then each rocket sent out a pokemon. A Krabby and a Vulpix. Vulpix was destroyed by bubble, and Krabby by leech seed. The damage that was done by ember to bulbasaur was healed by leech seed. Once those two fainted Cael and Cali discovered there other pokemon. ANOTHER Vulpix and ANOTHER Krabby. They did the same, but this time once the rocket's pokemon were near fainted they sent out Deux and Adgie to finish off the two pokemon, just for laughs.

Cael and Cali heard yelling and turned to see the last two of the six rockets running off and yelling, after seeing their team mates defeated like that they didn't want to be next. Jason then returned to the group, the kid following him with a 14 year old girl and an older woman carrying all the pokemon.

"Well. I suppose since we all worked together we should actually get to know each other." Jason said.

Chapter 3: Some New Adventurers

Jason, Cael, Cali, Samantha, the kid, his sister and his mom were all there. They'd learned the kid was named Calvin, the sister was named Galina, and their mother was named Rachelle. They were very nice people, and had given them medicine to heal their pokemon since the pokemon center was destroyed, and said they could use the medicine any time they wanted. After a while of talking, Calvin said that he wanted to join them on their adventure.

Rachelle's response was, "But honey, you're so young. I don't want to see my baby go."

"Mom, please."

"One condition." Rachelle paused for a moment. "Galina has to agree to go too." There was a long pause. Calvin had a pleading look on his face, and Galina was obviously very nervous.

Finally, "Okay." Galina smiled. Calvin let off a woop of happiness and hugged his sister.

"Well, how long will it take you guys to pack?" Jason asked. Immediately Calvin sprinted inside, Galina more casually walking behind him. Rachelle smiled.

"What will you kids do to pass the time?" Rachelle asked. Jason, Samantha, Cael, and Cali all just shrugged at the same time. Rachelle laughed and walked inside.

"So, Samantha. . . you know, can I just call you Sam? Or Samy?" Cali asked.

"NO." Samantha said, calmly but firmly.

"Why not? You'd get used to it pretty quick!" Cali asked again. She grinned.

"Nope." Samantha said, grinning herself now.

"Samy Samy Sam Sam?"

"No."

"Samy?" Now Samantha resorted to simply punching Cali lightly in the shoulder. They both laughed and Cali stopped bothering her about it.

Calvin ran outside smiling with a big backpack, but Galina hadn't returned yet. He looked around, noticing his sister wasn't out yet and he groaned and sat down. He wore black pinstripe shorts a bit past his knees and a red t-shirt with a black cap.

"Hey." Jason said boredly. He was a bit bummed to have some more people along on the journey. He wanted to be a bit more secret and isolated and surprise everyone in the end with super cool pokemon at the elites, but now it seemed everyone was sticking together. He began to think about his coming adventure. Galina returned with her mother. She was dressed simply in a brown knee-length skirt, tan flip-flops, and a yellow spaghetti strap top. She hugged her mother and walked over to the other while Calvin ran up to his mother and gave her a hug and they then headed off with many tips from Rachelle being yelled louder and louder as they got farther and farther away.

They headed through route two surprisingly un-noticed by pokemon. As they entered the forest there was an eruption of noise. Pidgey cooing and flying flying away in a hurry, or Rattata rustling through the bushes quickly. The place seemed a lot more scary once you were inside it. Jason smiled and ran off into the forest excited to be able to catch more pokemon. He really wanted a beedrill for his long term team, but that a charmander, a pidgey, and a beedrill wouldn't do well against Brock's rock types. He decided he'd catch a weedle and a caterpie. Calvin was close behind him but Galina ran ahead and grabbed him.

"C'mon Calvin. Mom said you have to stay with me. What do I have to do, put you on a leash? Sheesh. Hey, that rhymed. Leasheesh." Cael, Cali, Galina and Calvin all laughed. Samantha hadn't been listening, she was spaced out in her own little world.

Jason was now pretty far away. In a few moments he encountered a weedle. "Scar!" Oh s**t he doesn't know any flying moves. He sighed. "Tackle!"

"Pidgey!" Scar charged forward at the Weedle.

"Weedle!" A string shot plastered itself over Scar's eyes. Scar panicked, jumping up and down, flapping its wings. The weedle rolled onto it's back and squirmed around. Jason laughed happily and threw a pokeball. It shook three times and: DING! He peeled the string shot off of Scar's face.

"Good job, you learned gust." Jason said. He let the pidgey climb onto his shoulder. He let out Weedle. "I'll call you horn." He said after a short moment of internal debating with himself. He decided he might as well let out Sal as well. Sal immediately clung to his leg. The weedle cocked its head to the side. Eventually it crawled up the back of his leg and up his back to rest on top of his backpack. He looked like a total obsessive with his pokemon crawling all over him. He kept walking and eventually a young kid with a straw hat and a bug net stood in front of him.

"I challenge you to a pokemon battle!" The kid said in a shrill voice. He had lots of freckles, a chubby face, and was VERY short.

"Kay, let's get this over with." Jason said.

"Don't get over-confident on me!"The kid responded.

"Over-confident? No. Confident? Yes."

"Gah! Go, Metapod!" The kid threw out a pokeball to reveal a metapod. Total sweatdrop moment for Jason.

"Umm. . . Horn, get some practice." Jason said. He picked the weedle off his backpack and set him down in front of him. "Use poison sting. Repeatedly." The kid groaned as the metapod hardened and the weedle poison stung it to death. The kid then sent out Kakuna and moaned again. Same thing but this time a bunch of white lines appeared around horn, shooting from it's tail. Once it became a full orb around the weedle it seemed to contract and get smaller. The light then faded and revealed a kakuna. A trainers first evolution usually feels pretty magical, but when it turns into a cocoon that can only make itself harder to withstand more hits it really kinda kills the feeling. Either way, Jason complimented his new Kakuna on a job well done.

After a while he encountered a caterpie. He noticed the first sunset of his pokemon adventure off in the distance. "Sal, go weaken it with a quick ember, but don't knock it out, I want to catch this one too." Sal whipped it's tail around and shot a small fire out from it's tail at the Caterpie. Jason quickly whipped a pokeball at the Caterpie. He was out of pokeballs. Wobble. Wobble. Wobble. Wobble. POOF! The Caterpie jumped out and ran off into the bushes.

Jason groaned and continued walking through the forest for a while until he decided it was time to set up camp. He rummaged for firewood for a while and took it to a clear patch of dirt. He dug a small hole and put rocks around then started the fire. While doing the fire he outstretched his sleeping bag. Once the fire was burning nicely it was almost dark. All his pokemon were out. Horn rested on top of his backpack. Sal and Scar were playing all around the campsite.

Samantha entered the campsite. "Hey, can I stay here tonight? Making a bunch of different camp sites is kind of pointless." She asked.

Sure. No problem. Jason said. The fire was a bit low and Jason poked at it with a stick he was using solely for that purpose. He put a couple more pieces of wood on the fire and it roared back to life. Jason sighed.

"I see you have a new Kakuna. What's got you so down?" Samantha asked.

"The first failure I ever had at catching a pokemon was a freaking CATERPIE."

"That's not so bad. The only thing I've caught this whole time is my rattata, which I very originally named 'Ratta'." Samantha said sarcastically. "C'mon, look at all your pokemon when they fully evolve. You'll have a giant dragon, a bee, and a particularly awesome looking bird. Not saying mine are bad, because mine are quite good, but I get a couple chubby rodents. Cool chubby rodents, but chubby rodents nonetheless. Does the loss of a butterfly mean much when you have a dragon?" Samantha stroked Sal's head.

"Char! Char!"

Jason gave a small chuckle. "So what did you accomplish here in the forest today?"

"I only fought one caterpie the whole time and no weedle, and then I also fought a couple rattata. Ratta got nothing new and Rache learned thunderwave. The only interesting thing was I saw this old guy in Samurai armor. He had a scar on his face and he looked kind of creepy so I hid from him."

"Hm. I wonder where the others are."

Hmmm. I wonder where the others are. They probably made it to pewter and they're safely in a room at the pokemon center. Cael thought aloud. Cali groaned. Cali had caught herself a Caterpie earlier in the day. Calvin and Galina had gone off on their own and Cael and Cali were hopelessly lost, and had no hope in the dark until they saw a faint orange glow in the distanc to find Jason's fire. "Oh thank god we found you guys. We were totally lost." Cael said. "Mind if we stay with you?" Cael asked.

"No problem." Jason said. He was lying down with his eyes closed and while Cael and Cali set up their beds Jason and Samantha slipped off to sleep. After a while Cael and Cali slept as well.

Chapter 4: Beedrill Galore

The four trainers woke to the sound of Sal and Scar calling out repeatedly, trying to wake them up. As Jason woke up (he was the first) he groaned, "What? What?" He looked around and found that Horn was gone. "Oh s**t." He looked around to look for a source.

Sal pointed off into the distance. "Char char charmander!"

Scar jumped up and down, flapping his wings, nodding, and yelling, "Pidge! Pidge!"

"Okay. Let's go." He ran off with Scar and Pidge, the others were awake and were slowly getting ready. Jason had done the anti-mom's orders thing and slept in his clothes. He grabbed his bag and ran. The others were slowly getting up as well, but soon everyone was fully awake, and chased after them with their own pokemon.

Jason soon found the source of the chaos. Team rocket had a large totally busted up machine. It seemed to be a chute that fell down into a tank. The tank had a few Kakuna in it. It was surrounded by many rockets. They mostly had spearow, vulpix, and drowzee. The rockets were totally surrounded by beedrill, many beedrill were flying away with kakuna. The ones with spearow, vulpix, and drowzee weren't the only ones, just the only ones left. All the others were on the ground with giant welts on their face.

As Jason entered the clearing the beedrill immediately turned to him. The other three entered the clearing as well. Jason was greatly outnumbered. The beedrill seemed pretty insane, simply attacking all humans. The rockets had REALLY screwed this up. "Sal, ember! Pidgey gust!" Quickly two of five beedrill fell, but more beedrill who'd just returned their kakuna were returning.

"Hm. His pidgey is stronger than mine." Cael said. He said it at a regular volume, but it was almost inaudible under the buzzing of so many beedrill. "Deux try that as well! Gust!" With vigorous flapping of wings another beedrill down, but only to be replaced by two more. One beedrill shot at Cali's caterpie, Butter.

"Butter!!" As the beedrill was inches away from the not moving caterpie a string shot net fired around the caterpie. Jason realized what was happening. The net kept thickening and thickening until it was an orb and like that Butter was a metapod. The beedrill was very confused and flew back. "Oh my god! Butter!" Cali was absorbed in her first evolution despite it was just a cocoon. Samantha was the only one to notice the beedrill coming back for strike two.

Ratta! Tackle! However what then happened was not a tackle. Just a purple flash, the rattata was on top of the beedrill in an instant. "Ratta! Go in a loop! Quick attack again!"

"Ratta!" And that was one unconscious beedrill. A beedrill shot at Quirell. Before Cael could react the turtle pokemon pulled into it's shell. The beedrill bounced off and a water gun shot out of the turtle's head-hole, hitting each wing. When they were wet and weighed down the beedrill couldn't fly anymore. The squirtle popped out of it's shell and tackled the beedrill. In the chaos of four trainers 2-3 pokemon each fighting against a swarm of beedrill it was hard for the trainers to register what was going on fast enough. During the battle the rockets escaped with about 10 kakuna. There were only two more beedrill left, which were quickly taken down by an ember and a gust.

We have to get Horn! Jason said.

"We have to get the hell out of here! Our pokemon are tired, and there are at least thirty more beedrill and forty kakuna just itching to burst at any second and join the action!" Cael argued. Samantha and Cali wordlessly agreed with Cael, while Jason headed off in anger. Samantha finally broke the silence between them.

"Our best option would be to not let him go, but if he's going to be stubborn we can't make him go alone." Samantha said. Her arms were crossed and she was glaring. She turned around and headed to follow Jason. After a while Cali followed Samantha as well.

God damn it. Cael almost followed them but instead he headed off on his own to Pewter City.

Eventually Samantha caught up with Jason. Cali did as well, just as they were approaching the biggest tree in the forest. Actually tied for biggest. The two tallest trees in the forest were known as the kakuna tree and metapod tree. The name says it all. From the lower limbs hung the cocoon pokemon, but up high in the tree the beedrill and butterfree would rest.

They would have approached with extreme caution. However buzzing filled there ears as they neared. No beedrill were on the tree. They all surrounded a giant machine of some sort. Many people in suits like space suits came out of the machine with nets. As a few kakuna got netted many of the others burst. More men came out. With net guns. They started firing. No one had noticed the trainer trio. Over 2/3 of the beedrill and kakuna were caught.

Then in a flash of brilliant light a beedrill rocketed out of its cocoon. Many people fired nets at it that were easily avoided or cut in half. The beedrill started cutting open all the nets with it's hand stingers. As one person got close to it it shot forward and stabbed it's stinger through the glass, shattering the mans face mask. All the men ran into the machine and drove off with only a couple kakuna. "That's Horn." Jason said in the short moment of peace. However the beedrill were still angry. Of course who happened to be nearby but our heroes. Some. . . actually MANY beedrill flew straight at them only to go over them. However some wanted to face them. The one Jason identified as Horn flew in front of Jason.

The beedrill looked confused for a moment, but attacked. Red and orange energy appeared around Horn and then was absorbed into him. Focus energy. Then in a flurry of it's hand-stingers, the five beedrill who'd chosen Jason, Cali, and Samantha as their enemies were on the ground twitching. "Good to see you." Jason said. He stroked the back of horns head and he made a playful buzzing sound and then landed on Jason's head. Jason noticed one group of beedrill headed in the direction of Pewter. "Hey Cali, Samantha, do you mind if we. . . take a side trip?"

Cael heard the buzzing and looked behind. The group headed for 'Pewter' was really headed for Cael. He yelled in surprise and ran. As he realized trying to outrun them was pointless he turned around and released Deux and Quirell. "Deux, gust! Quirell water gun on their wings!" The both attacks made a beedrill fall. In fact the buzzing sound had led him to believe there were many, but it was a fair two on two. "Both of you tackle!" Deux's was down for the count, but Quirell's was still writhing. Cael threw a pokeball. After shaking a bit: DING! Cael released the beedrill and sprayed it with a potion. "Hey you gave me a scare there. Good match. I'll call you. . . Slasher." Cael returned all his pokemon. After a quick rest and a sigh of relief he headed to Pewter.

After a few minutes of walking the trio reached The Metapod Tree. A small worn out sign was in front of the tree that faintly said those words. So that's what that slashed up piece of wood by kakuna tree is. Jason gave a small chuckle. There were only three butterfree, but swarms of metapod.

Half heartedly he tossed a pokeball to catch a metapod. He really hated to take it from it's kind when they were all together like this. Wobble. Wobble. Wobble. POOF! Out came a butterfree. Jason was surprised but quickly sent out Sal. "Give it a scratch!" Jason said. The agile butterfree dodged. "Keep trying!" Scratch. Dodge. Scratch. Dodge. The game continued. Then Sal's claw gleamed as she scratched. It reflected light into the butterfree's eyes temporarily blinding it. The scratch hit dead on, but it wasn't a scratch, it was metal claw.

Jason threw another pokeball and: DING! He picked up the pokeball and released the butterfree. "I'll call you Freedom." Jason said simply and quickly. He then returned all his pokemon and turned around. Before the battle Cali had been holding a metapod. Now Cali held a butterfree. Isn't the world so exciting around bug pokemon? The trio now took a direct route to Pewter, stopping only once so Samantha could catch and name a metapod. They soon entered pewter and handed their pokemon over to Nurse Joy as soon as they entered the pokemon center. They walked over and sat by Cael.

"How was your adventure?" Cali asked him.

"I caught a beedrill, but really, nothing much." Cael thought that was impressive and had a tone of pride.

"Cool. Butter is a butterfree now, Jason caught a butterfree and named her Freedom. Jason's charmander learned metal claw, and Samantha caught a metapod she named Charlie. You may ask why? She might know why, but I dunno, she didn't say. So we're all quite confusd about her naming options." Cali responded. Cael's eyes went wide.

"Woa."

End Chapter 4

[Le Marquis de Noir]

Chapter 5: The Samurai

The pokemon were soon healed and handed back out to their respective owners. "Ha, gym battle number one, here we come!" Cael said. As the automatic doors slid open a tall old man in samurai armor stood in front of them. The face was open, they he held an oni mask in his hand. He had a large X scar that went over his whole face and he glared down at the young teens.

"Are you the trainers from Pallet?" The man asked. They all nodded in silence. "I am Samurai. You may have eluded me in the forest, but you now must face me!" He pulled his katana from it's sheath. At the base of the handle was a pokeball. He put his mask on and then grabbed the pokeball. As he grabbed it and pulled it off, another dropped from the hollow handle and stayed attached. "You will use one pokemon each. You first." He pointed at Samantha.

"Hm. Go, Rache!" Samurai threw out a butterfree. Convenient. Electric is super effective against flying. They headed away from town and then started. "Rache! Thundershock!"

"Butterfree, dodge and use poison powder!" Samurai's butterfree dodged and flapped it's wings and little specks of dust covered Rache, poisoning her.

"Damn it. Rache, thunderwave!" Butterfree couldn't dodge it and was paralyzed. "Rache, try a quick attack!" In a flash of yellow Butterfree was on the ground.

"Rache, finish it with thundershock."
"Butterfree, confusion!" The thundershock finished Butterfree and the confusion shot Rache through the air.

"You win." Samurai returned his Butterfree. He pointed at Cali. As Samantha gave Rache an antidote and a potion, Cali sent out Butter and Samurai sent out a Beedrill.

"Butter, confusion!" A pulse of psychic energy rammed into the Beedrill. The Beedrill charged at Butter in an attempt to use fury attack, but was beaten down by another confusion.

"Hm. Next." He pointed at Cael. Cael sent out Deux. Samurai sent out a Pinsir.

"Deux, quick attack, then gust!"

"Pinsir, catch the quick attack with a vicegrip." Deux rammed into the Pinsir and got grabbed by the Pinsir's jaws on the top of it's head.

"Deux! Gust!" Deux used gust from atop from the Pinsir's head.

"Pinsir! Seismic toss!" Pinsir flung it's head down and released it's jaws, slamming the pidgey into the ground.

"Deux! Gust again!" This time it was a finisher. Cael used a potion on Deux. Jason knew he was next so he sent out Sal. Samurai turned and looked at Jason as he sent out his last pokemon, a Scyther.

I know, I know. Sal, ember. Scyther was hit and burnt. It charged at Sal with quick attack only to fall victim to it being burnt.

"Interesting fights." Samurai returned his pokemon and disappeared.

Well that was a waste of time. Cali said.

Shikon sighed. Let's get to the gym.

End Chapter 5

[Le Marquis de Noir]

Chapter 6: Rocks Will Roll!

Jason pushed open the doors to the gym. He stepped into the large rocky arena while the other three stepped off to the side and sat in the spectator benches. The previously mostly dark gym lit up and Don stepped out from a back room.

"My third challenger of the day. Well, I'll explain the rules. I will use two pokemon. You will use three. Standard one on one rules. Now, go, Geodude!" Don threw a pokeball, revealing the geodude. "Choose your first."

"Go, freedom!" C'mon, you have a four times weakness, but you're psychic attacks will crumble them, and you're faster, you can dodge them! Jason thought as he threw out his pokeball.

"Gah, these things are so annoying. Geodude, rock throw!" The geodude grabbed a rock three times it's size off the stadium and chucked it at Freedom, who easily fluttered to the side, dodging.

"Freedom, you know what to do!"

"Free! Free!" Ripples of psychic energy knocked the Geodude back, making it roll through the stadium into a rock.

"Geodude, defense curl!" The rock pulled it's arms in over it's face. Freedom, knowing what to do, shot another confusion, hitting the Geodude into the rock behind it again.

"Rollout!" The geodude burrowed partially underground and rolled through, ripping the ground up and shooting at Freedom.

"Freedom, fly higher!"

And tackle! Geodude pushed itself up into the air with it's arm, flying through the air and ramming into Freedom, who quickly countered with a confusion, knocking out the geodude, thogh leaving Freedom tired and injured.

"C'mon Freedom, hold up just a little longer! We can do this."

"Onix, go!" The giant rock snake towered over the small and frightened Butterfree.

"Butterfree, confusion!" Onix's head was slightly bounced back, but it seemed barely injured.

"Onix, dig!" The Onix burrowed underground, leaving a giant entry hole the size of a van.

Flying is immune to ground. He's gotta know that. What's he planning?

"And rockthrow!" As the Onix emerged it flung a giant rock at Freedom with it's head. Freedom was down.

"Return." What can I do now? "Charmander!"

"A fire type? Boy, you barely beat Geodude with your little butterfly, and my Onix is MUCH stronger, you sure you don't just want to give up?"

"Positive." And with a mischievous grin, "Sal, metal claw!" Metal, being super effective to rock, quickly downed the Onix after Freedom's confusion.

Soon enough Don was off healing his pokemon, and Jason held a boulder badge. He dropped the badge in a small, dark red, velvet pouch that hung from his belt loop in the front left. He re-tightened the draw strings and went to sit with Samantha and Cali. Cael was down in the arena waiting for Don to return.

Now Cael and Don stood facing each other. Geodude on the field and in a flash of red light, Quirell as well.

"Geodude, defense curl."

"Quirell, use withdraw."

"Funny. Rollout!"

"Pff, water gun!" The burst of water soaked into the rock/ground pokemon, and the rollout attack did little damage to the Squirtle tight in it's shell. "Again!" The Geodude was KOed.

"Return. Go Onix! Use bind!" The tip of the Onix's tail wrapped around the squirtle.

"Quirell, water gun in ever direction!" From both legs holes, both arm holes, and it's head hole water shot out at the Onix.

"Onix! Tackle!" While binding Quirell with the tip of it's tail the Onix's head came crashing down on the Squirtle.

"C'mon Quirell! Just one more water gun!" With the water seeping from Quirell's shell both Onix and Quirell fainted and Cael got his boulder badge as well, and Don went to heal.

Cali and Don faced each other. Don repeated the same rules, then sent out Geodude.

"Go, Dee!" Cali called, releasing her bulbasaur.

"Geodude, rockthrow!"

"Dee send it back with vine whip!" Vines shot from the bulbasaur's back, catching the rock and throwing them at Geodude, hitting with so much force it shattered. The Geodude shook itself out.

"Geodude, defense curl!" The Geodude curled it's arms over it's face.

"Dee, vine whip!" The vines shot back out, this time simply whipping the Geodude, and it then passed out.

"Return. Go, Onix. Use rockthrow."

"Dee, dodge and leech seed!" The seed shot like a bullet from the bulb on the Dee's back, imbedding itself into Onix and sucking away energy.

"Onix, wrap!"

"Dee, vine whip, repeatedly!" A vine whip hit Onix, then Dee was picked up, in bind, then another vine whip hit Onix, finishing the battle.

"Okay. I use two pokemon and you may use three. Go, Geodude!"

Samantha sighed. She wasn't prepared for this battle at all. With another sigh, "C'mon Ratta." Don burst out laughing. You could really tell it was a faked laugh once it continued for about ten seconds and he started leaning on the wall. "You can stop the fake laugh now." Samantha gave a bored look at Don. Don glared at her.

"Geodude, rock throw!" Geodude grabbed a giant rock from the field and chucked it at Ratta.

"Ratta dodge with quick attack, then swipe back in at Geodude!" Ratta dodged the rock and hit the geodude with quick attack.

"Geodude, tackle!"

"Ratta, dodge! Use hyper fang!" Geodude flinched. Ratta, quick attack! Hit again.

"Geodude! Rock throw!" The rock hit Ratta, but didn't knock him out.

"Ratta, hyper fang!" Ratta bit into Geodude.

"Geodude, rollout!" Ratta didn't get a chance to move, the rollout hit Ratta point blank, finishing him.

"Ratta, return. Go, Rache!" Don gave another fake laugh though cut it off this time.

"Geodude, rollout!"

"Rache, thunderwave and quick attack!" The thunderwave paralyzed Geodude, slowing him down greatly. The quick attack struck the geodude and finished it.

"Return! Go, Onix! Use bind!"

"Rache, thunderwave!"

"Onix, tackle!" Rache was down.

"Return. Go Charlie."

Once again, Don burst out laughing, though this time it was a real laugh. "Onix, bind!" Onix started squeezing the cocoon.

Charlie. . . harden. . . In a flash of light Charlie was a butterfree, that easily slipped out of Onix's bind that was made to fit the Metapod. "YES! Charlie, confusion!" In a pulse of energy Onix fainted. Don's eyes were wide in shock.

"God, six for six losses. I'm losing my touch. Anyway, all of you come over here." All four teens stepped towards Don. He held out four TMs. "Rock slide. It is a powerful, somewhat inaccurate rock type attack. It has a chance to make the enemy's pokemon flinch and in double battles it hit's both enemies."

"Thanks." The teens said in unison.

"Now get out of here." Don chuckled and stepped into the back room. The teens headed to the pokemon center.

Chapter 7: Moondust

Cael's pokemon were healed the soonest. "I'm gonna head out. I'll wait for you guys at the cave entrance." Cael went to the pokemart and stocked up before heading out to route three he soon saw a mankey. The monkey pokemon was completely unaware Cael was there. Cael sent out Quirell and whispered, "Hit it with a watergun." The water gun hit the mankey with a critical hit. It turned around and charged at Quirell to use karate chop but Cael threw a pokeball. Shake. Shake. Shake. DING! He released the mankey. It cocked it's head to the side, looking at Cael, confused. "I'm gonna call you. . . Doc." He nodded and returned the mankey.

Cali got her pokemon back next. "I'm gonna go try to catch up with my brother, see you at the cave entrance!" She called out as she jogged away. In a few more minutes Nurse Joy came to the front counter with Samantha and Jason's pokemon. "Thank you." Jason said. Samantha nodded as to say the same.

"No problem, we're sorry about the wait." Nurse Joy responded. The two teens then walked away. As they left the pokemon center and came to a beautiful Spring afternoon the male and female teens came to an awkward silence as they headed off into route three. They soon encountered a male and female nidoran play-fighting. After that battle they continued on, encountering many other pokemon and then they reached the pokemon center at the entrance to mount moon.

Their pokemon weren't too bad so they healed fast just with a few potions and some antidotes. They talked to Cael and Cali as they waited. Cali caught a Jigglypuff and a Pidgey. Cael caught a Mankey and a Spearow. Jason and Samantha had caught the two Nidoran, but nothing else.

After a little bit of talking Jason and Samantha's pokemon were healed and the four teens entered the cave. Suddenly the cave rumbled and Samantha tripped. She scraped her knee on the ground. As the rumbling happened many squeaky, "Zu, zu!" Sounds echoed through the cave as many Zubat flew around randomly and chaotically. Jason helped Samantha up. Her left knee was totally scraped up and ripped open and blood dripped down her knee. At first no one really noticed it. Jason slowly put less support on her to let her stand on her own but as he let go she almost fell again, but Jason caught her. She looked down at her knee.

"s**t." She said.

"Let me bandage it." Jason opened up his medicine pouch and took a tissue. He poured some water from his water bottle on it and wiped most of the blood off. The actually open bleeding part was a good circle with at least a 1 inch circumference. "This may sting a little." He opened up a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and poured some over her knee. It fizzed up on her knee and she bit her lip. After it stopped continuing to bubble Jason poured some water over it to rinse off the hydrogen peroxide. Samantha gave a sigh of relief the pain was gone from the hydrogen peroxide, but the dull ache of the injury was still affecting her. Jason then took a tissue, folded it into a little square, and placed it over the scrape.

Jason took a strip of masking tape and placed it over the tissue so it stayed. He then made another one the other way so there was a cross of tape over the tissue. "We should take that off and check it every night." Jason said. The rumbling had stopped but as Samantha got up again the rumbling knocked her back down.

"Whatever's causing this rumbling doesn't seem to like me." Samantha said. Jason helped her up again. As they started walking again she was limping pretty badly. Jason walked over and helped her walk. "Thanks for all this." Samantha blushed.

"No problem." Jason blushed a bit too and they quickly looked away from each other, just looking straight ahead. Cali snorted back a laugh at the pair's behavior while Cael was totally oblivious. They headed off through the cave and soon a zubat appeared. Jason slowly lowered Samantha to the ground. "Sit, don't strain your leg. I'm thinking you might've pulled a muscle."

"Kay."

"Go, Nodo!" He opened a pokeball and in a flash of red light his newly caught Nidoran was there. "Nodo, double kick!" Nodo jumped into the air and hit the zubat the in the face with it's hind right leg, but the second kick missed. The zubat opened it's mouth and a high pitch ring filled the air. It was using supersonic, and it was successful, Nodo seemed to have a really weird expression and was moving it's head around strangely. "Damn it. Nodo, focus energy!" The move was successful and red energy twirled around Nodo before being absorbed into him. The zubat used leech life and energy was pulled out of Nodo. "C'mon, Nodo! Use peck!" The Nidoran jumped into the air at the zubat, but it horribly missed and smashed into a rock column. The zubat used leech life again. Nodo staggered up. Peck again! Similar results. The zubat struck with leech life again. Nodo, one more time! This time it was a critical hit right into the zubat's belly.

Nodo landed and was surrounded in light. Jason smiled. In a flash Nodo was a Nidorino. "Nodo, double kick!" The Nidorino flew into the air and kicked the zubat up into the air further, then did a barrel roll and used the other foot to smash the zubat down into the ground. The Zubat was down on the ground panting. Jason threw a pokeball. DING! Soon after that the zubat was healed and named and the teens went on their way.

They continued to walk until they hit a large pile of rocks blocking the path. They started digging and shoving away rocks. Cael grabbed a rock and rolled it away off the path but it soon back at him. He dodged the Geodude narrowly and sent out Quirell. "Quirell, water gun!" Quirell hit the geodude with a blast of water. It then retaliated with a rock throw. Quirell dodged and Cael threw a pokeball. Soon Cael owned a geodude named Trock. Trock was soon healed and returned to his pokeball.

The rest of the trip was uneventful until they hit the first lower floor. There when they encounter a paras Samantha insisted she do something and she caught the paras. They then continued to the second layer of basement. That's when the trip really got interesting. Many rockets were there with power tools or large bulldozers. One was standing guard at the ladder. He quickly shot a net gun at Cael as he was the first one down. He was caught off guard and surprised. In a flash of light Sal emerged and quickly cut the net open with a metal claw. Jason jumped down from a few rungs from the ground, Samantha and Cali close behind. The rocket growled in anger. He finished loading another net.

"Sal, ember." The net caught on fire inside the gun, along with the sleeves of the rockets shirt. He blew on the sparks, only nagging on the fire. He quickly the shirt off over his head and stomped on the sleeves, putting out the fire. He was wearing an overly small white t-shirt underneath. Cali couldn't suppress a giggle at how silly the rocket looked.

"Damn kids! Go! Tentacool!" The Jelly pokemon sat there, withered and dry.

"Erm, those things can't really fight out of water you know. . . umm. . . Sal, use scratch." The charmander went crazy at the tentacool with her claws while the rocket stuttered.

"Uh, Tentacool, use supersonic!" The supersonic missed. "Try poison sting!" The withered Tentacool's stinger twitched slightly, but didn't move. Soon the tentacool was wiped out. "Return. . . Go, Krabby!" The rocket had renewed confidence about this choice.

"Return, Sal! Go Scar!" There was a long battle of Scar quick attacking, Krabby vicegripping and often missing, and Scar quick attacking again, with some sand attacks, bubbles, and hardens thrown in, Scar emerged victorious. The battle of Jason and the rocket continued, Jason finely in tune with the battle. He soon realized the others were fighting as well and soon they were all finished whooping rocket a**. They looked around to see the other rockets had hastened their working and the walls were full of holes. The shaking had become constant and the trainer's legs were accustomed.

The trainers soon saw an angry Tauros seemingly out of nowhere charge them. Suddenly a Golem rolled into the path between the teens and the Tauros and popped open from it's rolled up form, catching the Tauros like a sumo wrestler and seemingly effortlessly picked up the Tauros and threw it back down into the ground with a strength attack.

Jason had heard how the Golem's shell would be shed and the Golem would swell up and grow a larger shell and how they never seemed to stop growing, but this golem was bigger than he ever imagined. It was about 12 feet tall, making the giant bull pokemon look like a pony. Jason couldn't help but smile at the thought of the golem being his size and how puny a tauros that small would be. At the same time he was confused. Where did the tauros come from, what was with the golem?

Don stepped out of the shadows. "I think I effectively just saved all your lives, children." He chuckled. "Golem! Double edge!" A huge cloud of dust appeared around the two furious pokemon in the end, really no surprise, Golem was the victor.

"What happened to the geodude and onix?" Cael asked, confused. Don once again chuckled.

I was a trainer once too you know. I didn't get one of those fancy pokemon from pallet though. I was quite frustrated with my little Geodude my dad caught for me. This is what he's become. Don said with pride. "Anyway, that Tauros was strong, Golem's pretty tired. I've gotta get him to a pokemon center, and we're closer to Cerulean, I'll take you there." They noticed the Tauros was gone but continued on. They soon found another rocket.

Cael grabbed a pokeball but Samantha held a hand in front of him and stepped forward. She threw out a pokeball, and in a flash of light Nidi was there. The rocket growled a sent a Rattata out. Nidi turned around and looked at Samantha with a questioning look. Samantha nodded and Nidi charged at the Rattata double kicking it repeatedly. It attempted to quick attack every once in a while but was hit faster than it could build up it's speed the Rattata was soon down and the rocket ran away. In a flash of shifting white lights Nidi was a Nidorina. Only then did the group see the huge tunnel the rocket had been standing by. A couple Clefable ran out of the tunnel and started calling, "CLEFABLE! CLEFABLE!" And frantically waving their arms around then running off down the tunnel.

The teens had followed the Clefable, pokemon out and at the ready. Don's Golem, Quirell, Dee, Nidi, and Nodo. They walked into the room to see Clefable galore their pokemon close behind. The sad thing was that not a single Clefairy was in a room. Neither the teens, nor Don noticed the odd sand they were walking on. As Nidi and Nodo stepped into the huge cavern light blared around them. "OH MY GOD ARE f***ing kidding me!!??!!??" Cael yelled as they all turned around to face it. The Nidoqueen and Nidoking were huge, standing almost on par with golem but DEFINITELY towering over all the teens. That was when they realized: the famous moonstone had been ground to dust. And they were walking on it.

There wasn't a Clefairy in sight, Clefable, Clefable, Clefable. "Clefairyyyyyyy." Came a pouty and sad voice. The teens looked up at where the noise was coming from to see a Clefairy from the ceiling of the huge, cavernous room. Then came a dark, booming laughter. The random unexpected noises were getting on Cali's nerves.

"Just like you Don, to gallantly come to the rescue of these little kids." The man had a scraggly, white and grey beard and mustache with wisps of spiky hair sticking out at odd angles. He wore a black suit with red pinstripes. "Tauros would have destroyed these children but no, you had to ruin it." The man spat on the ground. The Clefable were all crowding the far edge away from the man. The Clefairy was making a constant whining noise.

"What are you doing to them?" Jason yelled at the man.

"Well, we couldn't take the whole moonstone, it was far too large. We destroyed it and are soon going to harvest the moondust. The dust evolved them. All except that one in the cage. It's the colonies queen. The queens can't evolve, and we only have an interest in taking the evolved, and more powerful, Clefable. Now I'm afraid I've told you too much. Persian." The cat pokemon slinked out from the shadows behind the man.

A fast fake out attack caught the teens' pokemon and Golem off guard. It then used bite on the golem, and then finished it off with faint attack before Golem had a chance to move. "I should've brought Onix! Dammit! Sorry kids, but it's up to you." Jason growled at Don's overconfidence and idiocy to only bring one pokemon. He looked at Samantha. She nodded in response.

"Horn attack!"
"Bite!" Samantha and Jason called in unison. Nodo charged at the persian with it's head forward while Nidoqueen charged and bit at Persian. In a flash of light the Nido-royalty were down, and Persian licked the back of his paw.

"Hm. Teaching you flash did come in handy."

Cael opened his mouth the call a command but Jason cut him off. "It's useless, this guy is way too tough. Let's just get out." Suddenly a meteor mash slammed through the wall. The teens looked in the rubble to see the queen Clefairy smiling and jumping in circles chanting its name. Persian attacked with a faint attack that Clefairy nimbly avoided. She looked at Persian with her head cocked to the side then brought her head back up.

"Clefairy!" Energy swirled around it in and then as the energy moved it was absorbed into her fist. She charged at Persian and swung her fist at him and released the energy, shooting Persian back. As Persian got to his feet he seemed unbalanced. The man made him try fury swipes anyway but only ended up falling on his side. The energy appeared again, this time turning into fire and blasting at Persian knocking him out. Then Clefairy pointed at the whole in the ceiling. "Clefairyyyy!!" It was a full moon and the Clefable started dancing around the room with Clefairy standing on the pile of rubble in the center. The teens soon exited mount moon exhausted and happy to be out of the mountain.
