If there was just a trickle of insanity beneath the skin of Neville Longbottom, Luna was the one to see it. She knew every bit of crazy that resided within one's soul, just as she had once seen Harry Potter's fear and compassion. Luna was quite the intelligent soul. Most thought her to be completely insane. Yet, Luna knew, she was only slightly insane. She was smart, and that scared people. They shunned her and told her she was Loony Lovegood. Luna knew though, she knew she was just to strangly smart for people to comprehend. She just knew, she didn't know how or why, but she could see it. See the fear and confusion in people's eyes. Something that most couldn't do. Neville Longbottom, was as clumsy and odd as any boy she had ever met. Luna though, she could see the pain within his heart. The bravery beyond his falls. The intelligence beyond his flaws. That's why she fell in love. She couldn't help being hopelessly in love with a boy so hidden with secrets she could discover. She couldn't help falling head over heels for a clumsy, brave, wonderful man that protected his friends and loves. Luna knew, from the moment she met Neville that she and he were meant to be. Neville felt it too. He loved the way Luna's eyes lit up when he spoke. No one gave him the attention that Luna thought he so utterly diserved. It made Neville feel alive, it made him feel like butterflies were birthing in his belly. No one had ever made him feel that way before. After the war, Neville planned to marry Luna. He wanted with all his heart to be her's forever, but his grandmother wouldn't allow it. She thought Luna was odd and disgusting. She thought that Luna was a discrace. Neville tried to go behind her back, but he couldn't do that to the woman who raised him. Overcome with torn desire, Neville married Hannah Abbot. His grandmother aproved and Luna became grousomely upset. She hid in her room crying for days. Yet, no one knew this. Luna kept her innermost feelings to herself. If she let them go...she would seem weak. She wouldn't allow that. Luna was strong and beautiful. She could see things that most could not. That made her special, and no matter how much she had loved Neville, she wouldn't grow weak for him. So on her third day of crying, she reached out to the world. There she met Rolf, Rolf was rather strange himself and made Luna feel not so alone. She never went a day without thinking of Neville though. Although she loved Rolf, she had never been IN love with anyone but Mr. Neville Longbottom. Neville did love Hannah. He loved her with all his heart, well all but the peice that forever belonged to Luna. He wouldn't let that love go, but he wouldn't let it hurt Hannah either. So he hid it in the depths of his heart. He couldn't forget Luna, but he tried. Some days when Hannah was gone, Neville would cry. His hand grasped around the charm Luna once gave him, yet when Hannah returned he would whipe his tears and put the charm in his sock. Luna would sometimes stare at the ceiling as she lay her head on Rolf's chest and think of the love she lost. Luna would never forget Neville, and she felt sure he wouldn't forget her.
