cat_question A muse? Hmm.... Well, I know music will sometimes inspire at least a chapter in a story I may be thinking of writing. And I know my mood can also affect how and what I right at any moment.

So I would have to say that my muses are 1) Music (from video games, cartoons, and animes) and 2) Mood (as in 'how am I feeling?')

Exactly what I mean. Little things in life that inspire writing. For me it's just the fandom itself, music, and just things that go on in the life of me.

I find that most writers, myself included, do. I use music and small bits of video of whatever my fanfic is about to inspire writing. I also read other fanfics to get more inspiration. That's basically it.
Music and books. I write a lot of band fanfiction. I am currently working on and Escape the Fate (one of my favorite bands) one. Also I with the books, I am about to start a Vampire Academy one.

Typically I'll find a song that inspires me and write my chapter around the mood it puts me in.
Music, a thousand times over. Scenes that were birthed from music wound up making an epic for me.

But by the end I was wondering how the hell I wrote that much over one song.

I get psyched up on fan-made stuff and pretty much my own fangasms. Music doesn't work for me. Can't write a thing with it playing; it just wrecks my writing.
My own dissatisfaction with the actual events in a series, book, or movie. Otherwise, music isn't so much a muse as something to get me into the mood for a certain part.
music helps me, but only to the extent of its lyrics and the general atmosphere it sets. otherwise, anything short of a theme song throws the whole thing off. XD

but usually, the muse comes to me as the character(s) itself that i'm writing on. interesting characters have much potential to write about. :3

also- spotting inconsistencies or vague information or hidden backgrounds, maybe quotes and theories that somehow apply to the fandom and gives you a different or deeper view of it.

imagination- sometimes you can't let some ideas go...

I have a near naked Namek in my sigi - that counts for me. heart
For me, music-wise, I listen to Trip Hop like Tricky, Portishead, Massive Attack, etc for certain stories and scenes. I also like Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, and Queens of the Stone Age.

Character interaction is significant to me so people inspire me as well sometimes. Being near other writers inspire me to write and to think while being around certain friends with certain behaviors inspire me to make certain characters.
