Disco Inferno- No the last I remember was that it's you're not allowed to reply to reviews right in your story. You can respond to them by hitting the reply button next to the reviewer's name.

Yah, that's what I meant, thanks so much for confirming!
C:
Well, techincally, you aren't ALLOWED to reply to reviews in your stories directly, but everyone does it, anyway. I only do it for un-signed reviews cuz there's no other way to play to them (and I don't like sending e-mails to unknown persons, either.) in my earlier stories, I replied to reviews in the beginnings of my stories in my author's notes, and my stories have yet to be taken down. But I understand now that author's notes are being banned now?

The only time I really include author's notes is the first chapter of a story. But I really hope they aren't banning them.

I think they are only banning them if you make a chapter out of it...though I have a story like that and I have an A/N prefacing the info in the story....it is still up and running...so Im not sure...though that idea in itself is pretty stupid. Why stop people from posting A/N's in seperate chapters? Instead they have to clutter the actual story and distract from the readers enjoyment...*sigh* sometimes FF.N is so stupid

I think it counts as non-story content or something like that. It could be that too many people complained about getting alerted of updates that turned out to be the author saying that he or she wouldn't be updating for a while. Those are admittedly irritating domokun

It would make the most sense if they were banning Author's Notes from being submitted in as whole chapters. Although banning them altogether would be ridiculous, I wonder what they would be trying to accomplish by doing that.

= Hm.

Interesting question indeed.

zomfg. You will never see me post my fics here; even on my one year anniversary--or even my tenth! ._. -embarrassed-

I'm pretty sure the ban is restricted to notes being submitted as chapters. It seems like a silly rule to me, annoying as it is, and I don't see that it's being enforced. Then again, where FFN used to delete anything, it now seems to reserve judgment on works that have been reported for abuse several times confused

yeah..but promising a deadline when you hav things that will so obvioulsy et in the way...that is nut-worthy....trust me i know...i always miss my deadlines...at least on FFN that's why I stopped posting them
Normally I don't promise dates for new chapters either, but I was already a few pages into the chapter when I made the promise a week ago. But, yeah, I guess it's nut-worthy when I forget just what all has to go on into a particular chapter before it can be posted. lol
Darn fighting and information filler scenes...

Serioulsy. i hate writting fighting scenes...too much detail and they have to be written 'poetically'...like i hate ppl that have a great story and they get to a fight scene and it falls flat......"he ran and stabbed her." ...seriously......no.......wtvr its called......

the only one I wrote is in my story Hidden for star wars... the link is on the guild
WHAT THE HELL?!? I just saw something under my alleged name that was in total text speak that I never wrote! I know I didn't write it because I wasn't even ON gaiaonline that day! When I came in today, my avatar looked all weird, so I had to fix it, my signature was all screwed up, and I saw that post that I KNOW I didn't write! What I wanna know now is WHO THE HELL WAS MESSING WITH MY ACCOUNT?!? stressed stressed (exhales heavily) On a fanfiction.net note, please read my fanfics... ignore that dumb post thing... I didn't write it. If you don't believe me, then, (puts hand on the Bible) I didn't write it. Honest to goodness. So... please read my fanfics on fanfiction.net. I have a Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic, a FF7 fanfic, and a Kingdom Hearts fanfic in the works. My screenname, I will repeat is IluvAUs.
@Amethyst.Vampire: XD I've seen stories that do that. Or, instead of bothering to try writing out a fight scene at all, they write, "The hero lunged at the enemy and they started to fight. After <insert some odd frame of time here>, the enemy was defeated and died." o.O Meanwhile, the readers are sitting there and thinking, "What... the... heck... just happened?"

@VincentsGurl: Ah, I thought I saw a writing difference in your post history, so I figured maybe a soon-to-be-ex-friend or sibling had snuck on. Good luck in getting everything back to how you originally had it. Be sure you change your password (don't use single words, they're easy to guess for anyone familiar with your habits), might want to fix up any changes to your profile and journal, and never, NEVER trust ANYONE with your password. Not even your closest closest bestest friend ever, and never check the "remember me" option unless it's your own personal or home computer. Not kidding. I once had to delete 3 of my accounts on Neopets after asking a "friend" to check on them for me, thanks to a stalker/"hacker" issue that started shortly after. stare What makes me think it was my friend? For one thing, the harrassment stopped after I had all but 1 of my known accounts deleted, then told my "friend" that I had quit the site (didn't say anything about another account I had created and transferred my items to).
I created a thread to recruit new members for the guild.

Thread is here

I never got the link to your fanfiction so I could not tell. But thanks for clearing it up. But I do not really read any of those anime slash games. XD

Oh and the stupid key would not work so it sounds like I am speaking formally! gonk
I really like Fanfiction.net. I'm Ritzthefreak on there and I have about 45 stories up!!

I know right? lol...I read stuff like that and just abandon the story....forever... it's so upsetting.
Im fairly good at fight scenes.
On the flip side of the fight scene coin, I abandoned reading a story once just becuase one fight kept going on far too long for my taste. For me, at the 15th page of the same two characters fighting is where I stop.
True some people over do the fighting. I try not to make it too long but details are needed ninjutsu fights because you have put the names of techniques there.
I was reading a Pokemon fanfic a few years ago, and it started out as being really good. Then the sequel started, the rating was upped to R (back before FF.N had the M rating and moved all R stories to the adultfanfiction site), and the writer developed a liking of Dragon Ball Z fighting styles. Well... a story of Ash's father randomly going Super Saiyan for 3 chapters straight, followed by one filler chapter of the characters getting drunk, and straight into the next 3 fighting chapters, pretty much lost what little interest I had left in it. neutral

Had to abandon the Pokemon section a short time after that. A trend suddenly started for a while, where stories were being rated T, but were really R (some were more NC-17), and I guess it freaked me out to see so many stories on how the characters of my childhood fantasy world grew up to be prostitutes and druggies. o.o
Er, it was the NC-17 stuff that was shipped out, wasn't it?
