Awww. That sucks. I hate it when you have a really great story on your computer, then your computer is really stupid and crashes! I totally understand, though. My laptop crashed about four weeks into me having it, and I lost some stuff. Also, my 2 1/2 year old (at the time) computer crashed last year, and I had stuff for school that I hadn't printed off yet, so I had to do it all by hand the day before it was due. And I probably lost some really awesome story ideas with the computer too.... it's running now, but all the original stuff got deleted off of it. So, yeah...

Chapter 3: Jasper

The next day at school she was there, across the parking lot watching us. Edward and I were getting out of the Volvo when he pointed her out sitting on her Harley. She was watching us, and I knew she knew everything that we were thinking. Surprisingly enough, I was ok with that.

"Maybe we should talk to her," I suggested.

"No, keep walking straight." Edward said curtly.

"Wait, listen she could have good intentions."

"Or she could be baiting us. Pretending to get on our good sides, then using Jasper for some sick plan."

"Still, we should at least-"

"No Bella, c'mon lets just get to class."

I didn't push the matter further, his mind was made up and nothing I could say could convince him otherwise. As we walked I noticed him and Luci staring straight at each other, and there was no doubt in my mind that they were talking telepathically. Then it all made sense. The way they kept looking at each other, how Edward and Alice didn't want the others to know about the vision. They were keeping something from me, they figured out something about that vision and Luci wanted them, only, to know.

After third period I saw Luci going into the teacher's bathroom. It was the typical one room restroom with the "Falculty Only" sign clearly visable. Seeing that Edward was still talking to Mr. Cleavland -something he always did so that teachers believed he got straight As because he asked question- I walked across the hall to the teacher's bathroom. No one was really in the hall, except a few freshman, so when I knocked slightly on the door I tried to look casual. The door opened slowly and slightly. Quickly I slipped through the narrow doorway.

I quickly turned to close the door and when I turned back around she was there sitting on top of the toilet on the coverseat. Her ivory legs were crossed with her sharp black leather ankle boots slightly swirving up and down. Her turquoise short skirt flowed off her thighs and her arms were crossed over her faded pale blue wife beater. She had a lot of anklets, bracelets, rings, ear rings, and necklaces draping her limbs and neck. All of them seemed expensive and looked so unique looking. With the bandanna on her forehead, she looked like a gypsy. The kind of gypsy you imagined in the stories, scary, majestic, beautiful, mythical, and wise.

"Hello Bella," she said, her voice being the sweetest sound I ever heard. For awhile I had forgotten Edward's voice, my parents' voices, Alice's, Jacob's...there was only Luci.

"Hello," I said meekly.

"I'll just get right to the point," she said piercing me with her ghostly eyes, "I want to see Jasper."

"I can't help you. It's up to the Cullens."

"But you could convince them."

"Why would I do that?"

"You're right you have no reason to, but please I have to see him."

"Why?"

"That's not your concern, all you need to know is that it is very important that I see him."

"Does it have to do with that vision that you showed us?"

"Possibly," she said with vague intent.

"You know, I have a theory," I said feeling a bit more comfortable around her.

"Go on."

"You were the one dying in that vision." Though it was her face that I had seen in the bed dying, she could have been mascarading as someone else. But considering I knew no one of importance relationg to this that lived in the 1800s, besides her, I knew it was her. Her eyes were the only proof I needed.

"Very well, if that's your theory."

She looked straight into my eyes again, and for a moment nothing else mattered. We were in our own world now, out of the bathroom, out of Forks, out of America, out of this world. We escaped time and matter, it was as if we were exsisting before the universe was even created. Now I knew what the people in the Bible felt when they looked at angels. I don't think it was exactly like looking at God, whatever that feels like, but it was the closest thing. The feeling was undescrible. But for the first time in my life, I felt that I wasn't in my own skin. I was weightless.

"Bella!" Edward yelled from outside the door, "Bella get out of there now!"

"You better go," she said.

I nodded in agreement.

"But before you do," she said as she took my hand, her hand feeling like the smoothest icicle, "give this to Jasper."

It was an oval shaped stone. Edward was still knocking and shouting frantically, and was interupting the moment, "I'll be there in a second!" I yelled at him angrily. I never yelled at him like that before, but I didn't want to leave her.

"I will," I told her.

"Promise me," she pleaded.

"I promise."

When I opened the door, Edward gave me the sternest look.

"Where is she?" He said as he walked passed me into the bathroom, but Luci wasn't there. The window way above the sink was open, leaving no trace that Luci was ever there.

"Who? Edward what is wrong with you?"

"Luci wasn't in here?"

"No," I lied. I never lied to him, "geese can't a girl have some privavcy."

"Are you sure she wasn't in there?" He asked me suspiciously.

"Gosh eww no! Edward, seriously you're really getting too paranoid about this."

"Then why were you in the teacher's bathroom?"

"I like the privacy, but I guess I don't even get that."

"Ok ok, sorry, it's just-"

"I know," I said forgiving him, "it's all because you care so much," I kissed his cheek, "and I love you for it but please, let me do my business in peace."

He smiled, "Very well."

Chapter 3: Jasper
part 2

For most of lunch he didn't talk to me. I guessed it was because he didn't buy my story, he just sat there with a scowl and a cold slice of pizza. All my friends knew to leave us alone at the table, especially since Edward's scowl was so obvious. But despite his anger, I wanted to bring her up.

"Are you sure it's wise not to even talk to her?"

"Bella, seriously."

"No, seriously, I think we should try and talk to her."

"No," he said sternly.

In my jacket pocket I was playing with the oval shaped stone. It was as smooth as glass and even a little cold because I hadn't played with it since fourth period. Edward took my other hand, rubbing it gently. It was sorta funny, one hand was being played with by a stone, the other was playing with a stone.

"Listen Bella, do you trust me?"

"Of course."

"Then please no more talk about talking to her. I'm sorry I got mad, but you have to understand, this could become a very dangerous situation especially for you."

"Ok," I said, feeling like this wasn't going to be the end onf this conversation.

I was holding on tightly to both stones, wondering which one to trust more. If Luci wasn't who she was, I would have chosen Edward no questions asked, no doubt in my mind. But there was something about Luci that made me trust her unconditionaly. If she were controling my mind I don't think I would be feeling this way. I wouldn't be thinking about it. But then again I never had my mind contoled so how would I know how it felt? Or even if I could be aware of it. Nonetheless, it was hard to choose between the two. But then it hit me, I didn't have to tell any of them about the stone. Luci's will could be done without me having to choose between her and Edward. I could have my cake and eat it too.

Charlie had said he wouldn't be home until late that night, so I headed straight over to the Cullens. They were in the living room still discussing Luci, just how I had left them. I sat down with them still holding the stone. I hoped Alice wouldn't be predicting what I was about to do, it'd ruin everything. But I think she was too wrapped up in worrying for Jasper that her focus was far from me. Rosalie came to sit next to me on the two seater sofa, and I had to admit I was shocked. What shocked me even more was that she smiled at me...me! The lowly human.

"I have to go to the bathroom," I said as I got up.

"Well thankyou for the announcement," Rosalie said.

"Well you're welcome," I countered back, almost wishing I hadn't said it.

She smiled up at me and then rolled her eyes. Whoa! What was that? Was she glad I stood up to her, well sorta, it wasn't like I said anything important. Nonetheless, she actually smiled at me twice. I was grateful for it, for whatever reason.

I went to the upstairs bathroom, opened the door but didn't walk through, and then I shut it making sure they heard it. Quietly, I snuck to Alice's and Jasper's room. You could always tell which side of the room was Alice's and which was Jasper's. The right side of the room was bright and bold with clothes all over the floor. The left side was bland, sharp and very clean. I had to smile though, the most exciting thing on Jasper's side was a sand garden on his dresser. It was also the perfect place to put the stone. I pulled it out of my pocket, but before I placed it with the other stones I examined it.

I smiled a little, it was jasper. Picture Jasper to be exact. In seventh grade geology class we had plenty of them in our lab. What was cool about Picture Jasper was that it looked like a picture. It looked like a scene from a western movie with the light blue part being the sky and the many layers of brown being the mountains and plains. Smoothing the stone for one last time, I placed it in the garden then crept back out of their room.

Heading back to the bathroom, I quietly opened the bathroom door, closed it as softly as I could, then flushed the toilet. As I re-opened the door again, Jasper was right in my path.

"Oh!"

"Umm hi there Bella," he said, "are you ok?"

"Yes. Nothing's wrong. Why?"

"Oh well I felt you were feeling...anxious."

"Ugh well I'm fine really."

"Then what made you feel so frantic?"

On the inside I was giggling, but on the out I had to look very embarresed, "Umm ugh well, Jasper, I don't think you'd want to know."

"Oh," he said and smiled nervously, "oh ok right. Yeah..."

"Shall we get back to the others?"

"That would be appropriate," he said quickly and turned toward the stairs.

All the while, listening to them talk back and forth about her, I could still feel the stone. The jasper was getting heavier and yet it wasn't even in my posession. Did I really do the right thing? My conscience couldn't tell, it was just as confused as I was. But hopefully, time would tell.
