It was never true.. none of it. My parent's didn't love me... they just wanted to be known as the parents of the prodigy. And Sasuke was never coming back, it was time to face the truth. So what was left here? I don't feel like I belong here... it's time to move on.
How, how am I supposed to feel
When everything surrounding me
Is nothing but a fake disguise?
I don't know
I don't know where I belong
It's time for me to carry on
I'll say goodbye
"Katara!" I stopped a few yards short of the village gate but didn't turn around. I knew who was standing behind me, I knew the blonde haired boy who didn't want me to leave.
"Is there something you need Naruto?"
"Where are you going?" I turned my head slightly so I could barely see him out of the corner of my eye... I didn't want to forget that face.
"I'm moving on Naruto... there's nothing left for me here."
"You're making the same mistake Sasuke did!"
"No Naruto, Sasuke was power hungry. I just simply can't go on living here anymore. There's nothing left... all my hopes and dreams have crashed to the ground." As if nature agreed a crash of thunder echoed through the morbid silence of our meeting... rain was coming.
"Katara you can't leave us! You can't leave all your friends! You can't leave me..." His normally loud and confident voice trailed off, making him sound like the small and vulnerable child he was on the inside, torn and broken from so many betrayals...
"Naruto... yes you guys are very important to me.."
"Then why are you leaving?"
"Because... your friendship also just brings memories and hurt. And I've let you all down so many times... it's better if I just walk out of your lives. And then you can go on like you never knew me."
"But I don't want to forget you! I want you to stay! I'll try hard to make you feel more at home! I'll do anything! Just please stay here with us... with me..." He sounded so much like Sakura when Sasuke had left... And I had just watched from a tree unable to do anything, helpless and hopeless. I turn around and face the blonde with a sweet smile on my face.
"I'll miss you Naruto... you'll always have a special place in my heart. And maybe one day I'll return once I figure out what I must do... until then just remember, it's for the best." Then I disappeared, leaving Naruto with nothing but the emptiness, tears running down his face, and the rain that slowly started falling.
I can't stop the rain from falling
I'm drowning in these tears I cry
Since you left without a warning
I face the dawn with sleepless eyes
No I can't go on
When clouds are pushing down on me boy
I can't stop
I can't from the rain
From falling
