Although I do agree that computers and the human brain are similar in the concept that they process and store information, they are by no means the same. For one, the human brain does not require a finger to push the Enter button in order to let it compute. Human brains also possess an individual sentience, or in other words, a soul. Computers are basically just remakes of the calculator, except that they process and store more complex information as the machine becomes more complex in its system operations and function, built and conceived by the human brain, which possesses the imagination to create a non-living machine that can do the bulk of computational work for it, or in other words, an information slave.

To suggest that the human brain is a deterministic physical system which in certain respects is analogous to digital computing devices is not misguided.

How do you mean human brains possess a soul? What's your definition of a soul? You didn't do a very good job of outlining the distinctions between "brains" and "computers".

okay maybe your brain is a little like a computer in the way that it analyzes stuff

A soul is pretty much your collective sentience, from your intellect, memories, experience, thoughts, beliefs, ideas, imagination, feelings, emotions, etc. I also believe I don't need to reiterate the last three pages of opinions given about the distinction. You also didn't give a very good job explaining either.

You beat yourself on #1 dipshit. A computer is an "electronic device" and last time I checked, my brain is all flesh and not made of metal and circuts.

Ah but Jafro, might I remind you that it is proven that your brain gives off electrical signals, which are then translated into movements and thoughts. Technically our brain is an electronic device, you my friend are clearly mistaken thinking that you must have metal and circuits to make electricity. This is an incorrect thought. Most of our body's actions are the result of an electrical impulse or signal.

Also, in accordance to your argument with homosexual pastafarian, the more you curse in an argument the more ignorant you sound. It merely makes you seem as though you cannot find a way to justify your reasoning in the conversation, and I suggest you stop whilst you are ahead.

You have it backwards. Our brains aren't computers, computers are brains. Limited brains, but brains nonetheless.

You should consider taking an intro psych course; this is an idea that has been thoroughly explored and, in the end, not supported - human brains simply don't operate the same way as computers (this is why AI has not progressed nearly as fast as people expected)

How are they different? (not saying you're wrong, i'm completely ready to be wrong here)
they are different because, computers dont have a desire to live, they dont feel pain, they were made that way. if you dont feel pain, you dont have a desire to live.
computers are mechanical ,humans are organic.
Humans adapt, computers dont.
humans love and hate, and are bias.
Computers dont know love or hate, they are programmed to not do so.
Computers are not bias, because it gives you the proper answer.
Usually...
I dont support A.I. for this reason, too dangerous, trying to play god never worked out in history.

Wouldn't it be computers are brains? You know since computers came after our own brains thoughts?

(No I didn't not read the OP since I saw one of the first words was philosophy)

"Genes exist to pass down our hopes and dreams for the future, through our children. Living is a link to what will come, all life is tethered to the future. Loving each other, teaching each new generation -- Then the world can change..."

would you need to be conscious to be intelligent?
yes.
MAny humans...Every Human, makes decisions/choices that are influenced by their own consciousness. Humans ADAPT to every problem and are able to find a solution, even if they didnt know the answer before. You give a Human "time" and he/she will solve the problem eventually.
