...And I just said. This does not back up the argument for God by any means.

A concept: Instead of saying "God is real" try and look for the disproving of the statement "Atheists are smartest".

It's probably not an arguement for God at all. rolleyes

And there's a whole chapter in the book on Einstien's religion.

Albert Einstien was Jewish.

And had a lower IQ than me, I think.

What good is an IQ if you do nothing with it?

That doesn't mean he was smarter. That just means he worked harder or simply in a more focused manner.

Plus, I'm still in my first year of university.

The God Delusion!
The book he opened the topic with!
And I know I got that bit mixed up but it's very late XD
I'm trying to do my politics homework at the same time heh.
[.i_like_pi.]

And the crusades? Yes, those crusades in Europe. RELIGIOUS!! The two religions didn't mix, so they fought. That's just what religious people do. Or non religious.

Non-open-minded people...

So yes, I don't believe in a deity, or anything like that.

1. Everyone is self-proclaimed in their belief system.

2. I read the above and was greeted with the official verdict of "WTF?" in terms of what you meant to say. Doesn't connect. You brought up a conflict as some sort of validation for something or another, and went on to talk about open-mindedness whilst ruining the validation at the same time less than twenty words later.

Then your final sentence...?

Ahem: What?
I'm a mix of atheist and religion. I for one question the power of gods. Like if a god intends on piece, why is there a lot of chaos going on? I still hold on to a little religion but believe on a majority of science. I have my respect for those who are very religious; ex. 'god f*ck it' I don't want to hurt those of other religions no mater how stupid it is.

Einstein was an idiot with good theories. All the mathematical stuff behind them were done by his wife. rolleyes
All groups of people have those morons, and snobby douche bags that think their belief system means they're superior to anyone, and everyone. I don't hate christians, and can respect them, and anyone else religious, and I am an atheist. Now you've met one that wont outright insult you. I do believe that religion is a drug used to keep people in check. I believe it's self-destructive to be religious, and that religion is just bad for the mind. I'll provide reasoning upon request.

Anyone who tells you they can "proove" any sort of God or Gods is BSing you. Anyone who tells you they can "disproove" any sort of God or Gods is also BSing you. It cannot, and will not be proved, and trying to do so is missing the entire concept of "Faith".

That is so true. I couldn't have put it better myself.

An excuse coupled with a lack of any kind of retort. Also, intelligence and knowledge are not the same thing: He did specialize in an area and probably was smarter than you in that area and perhaps his methodologies as well. You might actually be quite dumb, thinking you're smart, based on what information you can recall or something of the sort. It's a common error amongst the populace.

Mathematics was not Einstein's speciality, and so because of this one "flawed area" he is now an idiot? The conceptualization of the ideas were his own no?

Who doesn't need help releasing genius?

Oh, no, I do believe it was pretty much his work.

All I'm saying is that the topic is "Are atheists smarter?" (I don't believe it to be so, by the way) not "Are atheists more efficient in some professions?"

You can be a supergenius (the smartest person on Earth, basically), have encyclopedic knowledge and the ability to calculate rocket trajectories in your head and memorize the number pi to the 1483920th decimal, and yet you can choose not to do anything productive with it.
Violet_Abyss
It... will not be proved

I wish I could see into the future, too.
Hark the people say: "God doth exist"
The Atheist reply: "Proveth that he doth"
The people say: "Proveth that he does not!"

A senseless argument neither side can prove the other wrong so why continue, it's like fighting in a trench war.

What?! What does this even mean? You have just espoused a meaningless sentence tantamount to

Bread + Abe Lincoln = (Goats x Led Zeppelin)

You couldn't be more unclear if you tried.

Yes, "The Book", you bloody pedant. Clearly the book that started this conversation: The God Delusion.

Oh, where the hell do you think? From the ******** God Delusion, which was stated mere seconds prior, and originally from Albert Eistein.

Since you seem unable to make the simplest of connections between x and y in terms of reference, one can only conclude one of two things:

Either you are trying to waste time by getting people to re-state obvious facts in the debate, or you honest to god can't figure simple things like this out on your own.

So which is it: are you trying to waste our time, or are you just an idiot?
