Bottle Shock
As long as humans want more, so shall they kill for that greed. No one will ever be satisfied with satisfactory food, a sturdy home and a nice landscape. Especially after the industrial revolution, when rather than focusing on sustainability, marketing and consumerism was promoted, people began to get accustomed to the fake life of telephones, mass media and Walmart. Food was no longer real - it was sold in stores in mass quantities and no longer had the name of a real farmer on the box. I could rant and rant and rant. World peace is... a concept that won't ever realize itself. At least until humans become so apathetic that they don't even want
more anymore.
Ah, but perhaps you speak not of apathy, but instead the principle on which Buddhism is founded, or the Four Noble Truths.
(I know, it's suicide to bring religion into the ED, but it's a point.)
*ahem* "Suffering exists. The root of all suffering is desire..." There's more, but that doesn't need to be posted here. Anyway, if we can stop wanting things, world peace just might be attainable.
