Well I asked that question so you could be aware of your own reasoning. Human nature is selfish you are compelled to act with everything you do. For the sake of yourself. Even love falls under this scrutiny. You love to be loved in return. Ironically it is this selfishness that causes pain. Because selfishness exist any idea of world peace will inevitably become corrupt. In my opinion if we could all learn to be selfless we could create heaven on earth. At the same time if you remain selfish I believe things will eventually become hell.

The answer to "How do we achieve world peace?" is simple: international trade.

As long as every country is dependent on the other for exportation and importation of the other's product they will be less likely to attack someone else since it would affect them in the long run.

Example: I like rum. I hate Stan. I kill Stan. Stan can't make his special cupcakes anymore. Eliza really likes Stan's cupcakes. Eliza makes my rum. Eliza is too depressed without the cupcakes to make my rum. Now I am sad for I am rumless and it is my fault.

You could also economically enslave India Stan without actually calling India Stan a slave.

Anyway, you guys are right about human nature, as far as I could tell. But we can change human nature, can we not? If we could somehow teach all of mankind to just accept life as it is and not want to change it negatively, we may not develop much as a species, but there wouldn't be much of any disagreements, as both sides of the argument would just accept that the other side thought something different, and that was ok.

People are growing more and more tired of the consumerism and Keynesian Militarism we have been baited into following during this era. Corporations and the industrial complex are now struggling to uphold the illusion of modern life's grandeur; yes, people even hold in doubt that people of less advanced countries are mere selfish animals. The struggle to keep our focus on the things they deem important is a losing battle, as people are cultivating their contempt proportionally to the corporate exhibition of selfishness.

The thin veil of freedom through work, respect through property, is being ripped to shreds as we speak. Selfishness only stays a virtue as long as the people believe in it, and the heavy burden that conviction is, is being thrown off many people's shoulders every day.
