So you want to throw away your life?
Smoking pot has only had a positive effect on my life socially, physically, and mentally.
-PhantomRain_ InariReyne-
WRONG. it is your bussiness

=/

say someone you love says 'i want to starve myself' instead of 'i want to have cancer'. would you stand for that?

NO. you would NOT. thankfully there are laws in place taht allow us to temporarily override that persons rights, and force them into a hospital.
Key words: someone I love, in my family.

Not some stranger that I'm going to tell them how to live their lives.
And even if someone is in my family it is still not my business to tell them what to do.
It's my business because I love you. heart

I agree with this statement, as the same has been true for me. On a side note, I have many friends who smoke cigarettes, and its amazing how many people feel the need to let us know its harmful to your body. I feel like informing me of the dangers of cigarettes should be harmful to them, by pissing me off with unwanted input.

Anger issues and what not. Thank God for weed.

Except you just said you've never smoked. Catch "traces" of the smell is totally different. The smell doesn't make you high.

Do you even know what you are talking about? Contact high dude, contact high...

You have to be in an enclosed space with LOTS of smoke in order to get a contact high. Its not like someone smoking across a large room will make EVERYONE high.

Also, the second hand smoke causes cancer argument is a bit old, in my mind. Can anyone show me a case that went to a court where someone died from ONLY a secondhand smoke? The amount of smoke you would have to take into your lungs to die from secondhand would be monstrous, and it would have to be over YEARS.

Have you ever been to a concert? Lots of non smokers go to those and catch contact highs. It's not very hard, especially if you've never smoked.

But second hand smoke from cigs doesn't have the filter on it. I've been fighting with myself for years not to try a cig because I live with people who constantly smoke in the house and I inhale it. Then again, I've also wondered if it's from the second hand smoke or because I used to smoke pot and smoking has just turned into a habit...

Smoking gives you cancer over years, so yeah it would have to be over years. Like having a spouse that smoked or parent or something.

I work in a concert venue in Califorina. It is against the law to smoke indoors and my job to enforce that. We don't normally have a problem with contact highs, unless we are told to let the smoking go, which we never are.

your topic was about you giving yourself cancer through pot, and everyone else should stop giving a ******** cause it's your right to get cancer.

that is wrong.

i just showed how people's rights can be anulled (for lack of a better term) if they are physically harming themselves.

not to mention this argument is moot anyways cause POT DOESN'T GIVE YOU CANCER! it actually is GOOD for your health.

Not a high from cigarette smoke, but bud. The first part is for bud, the second is for cigarettes.

If you love someone, can't you accept their vices or does your love come with restrictions?
mrs_chester_bennington
I don't really care if you want to do that to yourself. I agree people don't have the right to go up and harrass people not to smoke. But if it's someone I care about then I have the right because their sickness and death will effect my life.

I think alcohol is ok and not pot because not as many users get emotionally addicted to alcohol (with the exception of alcoholics, who I think shouldn't be allowed to drink, but I guess that's where law has it's limits cause you can't really find all the alcoholics and stop them from drinking), and it doesn't have the long term mental health effects. I don't like people who choose to smoke pot because they are practically giving themselves a higher risk of depression or schizophrenia, whereas alcohol doesn't tend to cause those things as much. And it's those things - craziness - that really screws up families.
Ummm, Yes users get emotionally addicted to alcohol, infact that's usually one of the main problems with addiction. If it was just physical there wouldn't be that many addicts cause it's pretty easy to get rid of a physical addiction. People use alcohol and other drugs to cope with emotions. Anything that becomes habitual is a bad thing.

Alcohol can, and often does, cause permanant liver damage when you use it too much, It'll ******** up your mind and your stomach. neutral But yeah pot is waaay worse.... stare please not my sarcasm on the last bit

If one of my loved ones decides they want to starve themselves, who am I to stop them? Their body, they can do whatever the ******** they want to to it. Will it upest me? Yea but it is still none of my buisness to tell them off.

There are studies that examine the effects of THC on asthmatics. I myself have severe asthma and the hospital is like my second home. I've smoked marijuana several times and actually felt better. If you'd like me to pull up several different studies I will.

I'll take your word for it. My asthma isn't severe and flares up after I've been sick, or in the presence of someones whose been smoking (both cigs and pots). I'll take that as enough evidence to stay away from it for my personal health. Humans don't react the same to drugs, if it works for you, congrats.

You act like I'm the only asthmatic in the world who is helped by smoking marijuana.

Believe what you will, scientific studies or not, but for future reference;

I'm acting like I, my brother and my mother, are asthmatics , whom are not helped by smoking marijuana. Without referencing, I'm pretty possitive that a percentage of those studied where not possitively impacted by the smoking of marijuana. I would happen to be one of them.
Except you just said you've never smoked. Catch "traces" of the smell is totally different. The smell doesn't make you high.

The smell is not going to make me high, not entirely worried about that either. I'm worried about not being able to breathe when I catch "traces" of marijuana because someone else is smoking it.

EDIT: if the smell of marijuana sends me into a blind coughing fit, why oh why would I purposely smoke it?
