While this may be old news, it's certainly not finalized.

About a month ago Comcast started trying to gain support for the merger by stating that, "Comcast’s transaction with Time Warner Cable will bring Net Neutrality protection to millions of new customers in cities from New York to Los Angeles."

"Net Neutrality protection," of course, refers to Comcast agreeing to be legally bound to the 2010 net neutrality rules until 2018 as a condition of its merger with NBC in 2011*. The same rules that Comcast lobbied against and had struck down before they had to recant to make their merger work.

After the merger, the TWC who are reclassified as Comcast customers will be covered under Comcast's net neutrality clause, so what they're saying is technically true. However, it is much less, "we support net neutrality" and more, "TWC customers will be covered by a temporary clause designed to protect Comcast customers from Comcast."

Slimy.

*: What the ********? Why wasn't NBC required to tell us about it? They're the news for ******** sake?

LOL! They're owned by two companies who have nothing to do with news!

Scary s**t, dude. Luckily, in this rural area, we don't have Comcast or TWC. Net neutrality is important.

I didn't know that NBC was owned by the two companies mentioned up there. Holy s**t, man. The more you know.

So, if the news channel shouldn't be trusted, where do you get your news?

I don't know if there is news that can be 100% trusted.
But, personally? There's a whole bunch of little news sites that'll give you the news for free. There's also reddit.

An awful lot of people who watch NBC do so on cable provided by Comcast.
Just sayin'.
