Tony Dungy has been under fire at twitter for saying he would not have drafted Michael Sam, the first openly-gay football player to be drafted.

Quote:
"I wouldn't have taken him," said Dungy, now an NFL analyst for NBC. "Not because I don't believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn't want to deal with all of it.

Sam was drafted in the 7th round (last round) by the St. Louis Rams.

Could Tony Dungy be wanting to limit distractions for his football team (which he is not coaching right now, but was very established coach when he did), or is Tony like many people on twitter think, just a bigot?

I'd like to hear your thoughts on it.
