Do you even know what an axis is?
Webster.com: An alliance of powers, such as nations, to promote mutual interests and policies.

I'm not an idiot, but thank you for trying suggest it. smile

Christianity isn't an axis.

Hmm, I would classify the Catholic church as an axis.

It's a single organization. You could, potentially, call the entirety of Christianity an axis, if it weren't for the fact they hate each other.

Christianity isn't an axis.

Agreed. It isn't formed by Nations.

I don't agree with world fund thing, and espeically t.v. pasters, I think that it's all a fake hoax.
"World Fund Thing"...it's not fake. I've seen actual pictures taken from these missions and have spoke to people who went there. And by "t.v. pasters" I'm assuming you're referring to Televangelists. While some have been fake they all are not. Once again, a stereotype. They are pastors who go on television trying to spread their beliefs of God. Granted, some are more famous and wealthy than others. My grandfather is a televangelist (not a famous one) and I've seen him pay out of his own pocket just to try to reach a few more people. Give him some credit here.

It doesn't have to be a nation.
wow that made my eyeballs shrivel up and die but i loved the sarcasm. But let me add that even though there are those great christians there are still those really strange ones that take it too far. Handing out bibles in the streets and calling those who deny them evil is a bit drastic. and the beleif that those with no faith in the 'almighty god' will go to hell. well im telling you that there are an equal amount of creeps from religions and atheists and that we should just accept it and live our own lives without trying to 'cleanse' or 'free' each other.

We should just live the way we are without trying to convince the other that they should change beleifs.
"Axis" is probably just a figure of speech in this case, like saying "Bush is the antichrist" you get the point of "I don't support Bush" across in an eye-catching manner.

That being said, Nice thread, I'm glad somebody finaly said somthing.

The definition says "such as nations." That means as an example but no limited to.
I'd like to add my thanks as well.
And let's not forget all the Saints that founded so many charities, like St. Vincent. I'm not sure, but I think Peace Corps is Christian-based as well? If it is, I think I read they said it doesn't matter what religion you have, they're more than pleased if you decide to help.

With that being said, thank you. 3nodding

Christians help the world.

How about the story of Noah's Ark in which God kills every single human being on Earth but Noah and his wife. I can see maybe about half but every single one but two people, come on that's not very nice.

Adolf Hitler was raised a Catholic and although he did not attend church he was still a follower (assumed from his quotes).

I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord's work. [Adolph Hitler, Speech, Reichstag, 1936]

I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator. [Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf, pp. 46]

This human world of ours would be inconceivable without the practical existence of a religious belief. [Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf, pp.152]

I could gave you more stories about how Christianity and or Christians haven't been all that helpful or kind.

That is the beauty of most Christian charities: you don't have to be Christian to receive help! They help anybody. Sure, they try to tell you of Christianity but they will not turn you away. I'm not Catholic so I'm not very familiar with the different Saints, but I will definitely agree with you. Saints are Saints for a reason!

And to everyone, thanks for all of your, well..."thanks!" It's good to know I'm not the only one who shares this opinion. You should definitely share it if you're thinking it!
The problem I've seen most people have with Christians is that they look at the few religious zealots and assume that they represent Christianity. There is this wacko who comes to my University once a year to yell at the top of his voice that we're all going to hell because of our sinful ways and to reprent and all that s**t. Well, you have the various Christian organizations who go out to yell back that he's a fraud and doesn't speak for Christianity; and of course the rest of the University who goes out for the fun of yelling at the psycho who is screaming that we're all sluts because we're wearing skirts or living in dorms.

Also, there are some Christian organizations who are really really strict and obnoxiously pushy... A friend of mine pointed out that we are their "pet sin project". Now, I'm Christian, and even these people get on my nerves.
Them: "Are you saved?"
Me: "Yes"
Them: "Are you sure?"
Me: "Yes >.>"
Them: "The bible says... *launch into some big speech on something irrevelant*"

Yes, although I'm sure they mean well... its annoying. But that doesn't mean that all of Christianity needs to be bashed. The same way there are people who abuse the Muslim religion, there are people who abuse Christianity.
The major problem I have with Christianity is evangelism. This is not to say that I don't know many wonderful Christians~ I certainly do~ but SO MANY Christians try to push their beliefs on me. I've never had anyone from any other religion try to convert me, although I'm spoken with Hindus, Muslims, agnostics, atheists, Jews, Buddhists, and even a few Taoists.

I'm at a loss for what to do. I know that the Bible commands you to spread the Good News, but it's SO ANNOYING. And, at times, insulting. What are we to do? I can't tell you to stop practicing your religion, but I don't like being harassed, either.

And then there are Christians who are pushing for legislation which is completely against the Constitution. How am I supposed to respond when you're trying to take away First Amendment rights away from myself and my fellow citizens?

Religion does plenty of good things in this world. It inspires art, is the foundation of many charities, and ushered in a social revolution in America. But I like my personal freedoms, and many Christians are trying to take those away from me.

You're right. That wouldn't be very nice... however you're wrong so it doesn't matter. Noah and his wife were not the only two humans on board >.>
The crusades. Christians don't hide that we've screwed up in the past. Get over it. The U.S. has done some pretty stupid things (most of them wars), and so has France, Spain, Britain, ect., but that doesn't mean they're evil.
