Hmm. That's an interesting thought. See if you can go with it further, though. What is it that's causing such a violent aversion to the pain? Is it the actual displeasure of the pain? Or, is it because it's a survival instinct of not wanting to deal with what the pain implies?

For what is it that pain does to you? Cause discomfort? Yes. Then what? Prolonged pain is often times a signal for "something's wrong", and it usually means that you're in some level of physical trouble.
