The ones who are preventing the economy of the US from making a faster recovery are the people running the GOP.

They've been saying no to Obama since day one simply because they don't like him. So instead of putting their own feelings aside and actually concentrating on healing the country, they choose hinder Obama's plans for the economy out of spite.

Despite opposition from the GOP, Obama managed to bring the unemployment rate down to 7.8%.
I'm positive that with the full cooperation of the GOP, the country's economy would have significantly improved in 4 years time.

They disagree with him because he's a Democrat. They've had power all the way up until 2008. Do you think they're happy about that? No.

It would be the same if it was any other Democrat that took the office. The point is, he's not under their control therefore they do everything in their power to make Obama and the Democrats look bad so next time the people would think twice before electing another Democrat to presidency. It's logic. People who have power (GOP) don't like giving up power, and now they're stuck with Romney to take take back the power they had before 2008. The way they're doing that is by blocking everything Obama tries to do to help the economy and by throwing out lies about him and his deceased mother, who they've recently called a whore. How classy.

They do disagree with something about him. He's black, educated and a Democrat.

They have proven over and over again that they don't care about helping the country. Most politicians are extremely selfish and egotistical. They care about getting reelected over everything else.

Know why Scooter Libby's in prison? For that crime. Well, not actually that crime, being the furnishing of false information (yellow-cake uranium sales from Niger to Iraq) but rather the defamation and outing of the ambassador to Niger and his operative wife who contested the claim by Haliburton Cheney.

I said 'one of' not 'the'. There's more than one reason why we went to war with Iraq just as there is more than one reason for the vast majority of decisions people and the government make.
