Tattoos in the political world.

Why is it that the stereotype of anyone who has a tattoo is some kind of
unreliable figure?

One of the three sitting presidents to only ever get a nobel peace prize was Teddy Roosevelt,
him and his mom had tattoos replicating their
love for their nation. (A flag and tomahawks or something)


I just don't get it. Furthermore Huffington post wants to lump in this Czech candidate who's tattooed head to toe with a porn star?

That doesn't connect with me; yeah I get why you wouldn't want a porn star running as a representative.

I don't think a man should be judged on how he looks, but by his actions. And the same goes for a woman as well.

The reason I got my tattoo for my mother was to commemorate her when she died.

And I don't fear the permanence of it at all, the permanence is what I needed.

A perceptual superficial judgment on someone's appearance to judge how rash they are, isn't a viable method of determining someone's behavior..plenty of people who don't have tattoos are already rash enough, say Morsi of Egypt. lol

Well, that's just my best guess. I can't really speak for others since I've never really listened much to the opinions of those who dislike tattoos. Why do you think people dislike them?

Look, the topic creator asked why people dislike tattoos on political figures, and I gave my best guess.

My guess is that people who don't understand tattoos probably focus on their permanence more than anything. People may fear such a permanent decision and project their own uncertainty onto those who are certain about their decision. Thus, what may be a wise decision to the person getting the tattoo may be seen as careless by somebody who fears such permanent decisions.

If there's any dishonesty here, it's saying I dislike tattoos. I don't. Maybe my grammar needs less algebraic format...

Are you trying to misunderstand my posts? 'cause I thought I spelled it out pretty well there.

I'm guessing as to why people dislike tattoos because I don't know for sure. I can't be certain of other peoples' opinions, so I do not claim that this is fact.

I am not saying anything about [people with tattoos]. I am saying something about [people who say things about people with tattoos]. I don't know if I can say it more simply than that.

I am with the OP; in agreement, mutual understanding, alliance, cahoots. I think the OP is right to question this behavior of questioning people with tattoos.
