I'm half black. I don't find it particularily offensive that all the models are white. It may mean that no black or other minority wanted to model the costume. Maybe only white women are slutty enough to dress in such provocative costumes. I do think the pimp costume is over the line, but there will always be inappropriate stereotypes in America.

Today in my American Indian studies class, the only Indian student in the class said that today a girl said to him, "It's been raining non-stop. You should quit dancing."

Racism is everywhere, and it well never die, but the severity of it varies.
I don't think Halloween is "rascist" per se.

There were also asians wearing geisha and ninja outfits, and I remember seeing one slutty costume with a latino looking chick in it.

And where did geisha and ninja come from? Asia. And if you saw such models, why didn't you say so?

There is also a local costume shop, same deal there (except no website for photo evidence).
Also, a quick google image search of commercial Halloween costumes brings up a shot of Playboy's costumes. Guess what...

Again. This just shows that the costume shops are racist (or need to realize their mistake). This has nothing to do with the holiday itself being racist.

Also take into account that through marketing research they discovered, hypothetically speaking, that whites were more likely to buy a costume from the store and blacks were more likely not if they did it was the pimp. Something like that.

Hypothetically speaking, I in know way presented it as fact. I offered a plausible solution as to why it may appear that way. "They did marketing research and discovered, hypothetically speaking..." Is how I meant to present it. I know I get pretty confusing most of the time.

Racism is really just any form of stereotyping based on race.

I love how people never end to play the race card in everything, if you didn't make it an issue it wouldn't be an issue. Most of the time these so called "stereotypes" are the making of the race themselves. I watch movie after movie where it's an all black movie that back up these kinds of stereotypes, so obviously they must be comfortable with it. Who cares really who the models were, or what color their skin was. I don't go shopping for halloween looking for costume packages with only a certain color of person on it, so why would give a crap if they were purple or rainbow colored. The color of the skin of the person modeling the outfit isn't going to influence wether or not I buy a certain thing I happen to like. If it influences you, and you're noticing, then that really says something more about your focus and not so much about the focus of the people putting out halloween costumes.
