some of their info might be legit.
But their knowledge of things might differ from others.

Wicca is an initiatory orthopraxic fertility witch cult. In order to be Wiccan, you must be initiated into a verifiable lineaged coven, one who can trace their cross-sex initiations back to Gardner himself. You must be at least 18 for this, though in some covens the base requirement is older. This is due to the explicit sexual nature of the practice, as it does include sex rites.

I'm a practicing wiccan and in none wiccan lititure (Book of Shadows or Book of Mirrors) is there ever mentioned on having an orgy. The most erotic it gets is to advice getting naked for a spirtual rite, but only if you're comfortable because it doesn't work if all your thinking about is your weight.

You need to educate yourself

I think it's kind of funny how I get irritated with fluffs to no end, and I'm not even Wiccan.

Hypocrisy is a cruel succubus, dearie.
You AREN'T Wiccan, no matter how much you claim to be one. Little to nothing in Wicca is "optional", and the only thing you can really do is not be in the religion if you don't like the aforementioned practices.
Deal.

It's not a cult.

It's a religion whose symbols were labeled at evil by Christians and Catholics to keep people away from it.

It is a cult, by definition, as is Christianity, Islam, Hinduism ect. Even Gardner was known to call it the "Witchcult".

And people tend to do that... The Nazis stole my Svastika TT-TT

where is the source for this information as i have been a practitioner of Wicca for almost ten years and in all the texts/information that i have/have had access to it in no way mentions the above in fact it states quite the reverse and i have many friends who have access to materials that i would love to be able to study ( including texts that are locked in the Vatican vaults) and they have never come across this either.

the following is information freely available from the pagan federation website

http://www.paganfed.org/pagan-wicca.shtml

What is Wicca?

Wicca is one of the most influential traditions of modern Paganism. Also known by the name Witchcraft, it began to emerge publicly in its modern form in the late 1940's. It is an initiatory path, a mystery tradition that guides its initiates to a deep communion with the powers of Nature and of the human psyche, leading to a spiritual transformation of the self. Women who follow this path are initiated as Priestesses and men are initiated as Priests.

Wicca is sometimes called the Craft of the Wise, or, more commonly, the Craft.

Those wishing to be initiated to certain traditions must be at least 18 years of age. Wicca does not seek converts and initiation is never offered. Initiation must be asked for and is only given to those who have proved themselves suitable. It is traditional to wait a year and a day before being accepted into the Craft, although in practice this varies.

In Britain, there are a number of Craft traditions: Gardnerian, Alexandrian, Traditional, Hereditary (Family), Dianic and Hedgewitch. In other countries, other traditions have evolved to reflect their own culture. Gardnerians claim lineage from Gerald Gardner, who was most responsible for the revival of the modern Craft. Alexandrians descend from Alex and Maxine Sanders, who developed Gardner's ideas. Traditionalists claim their methods pre-date the modern revival and have been passed down from generation to generation. Hereditaries claim their traditions have been passed on by particular families through relations of blood and marriage. Dianic craft is based on feminist principles and Hedgewitches follow a more solitary path.

For some practitioners of the Craft, Witchcraft and Wicca are seen as two distinct paths, for others, the boundaries between the two are more blurred. Certainly, the word "Wicca" is less evocative and emotive than "Witchcraft" but whatever their perceived differences, they both share the same commonality in their beliefs and practises.

Witches celebrate eight seasonal festivals called Sabbats. Craft rituals, like all Pagan rites, are often conducted out of doors and involve simple rites to celebrate the seasons and the gift of life. Craft ritual is a means of contacting the Divine beyond our individual lives, but also a way of understanding our inner psyche and contacting the Divine within.

Witchcraft is a path of magic and love, the movement of a deep poetry of the soul, a sharing and joining with the mysteries of Nature and the Old Gods.

however this is not an exhaustive description and i strongly urge you to search out other sources aswell

AN HARM NONE, BUT DO WHAT THOU WILL
Wiccan...ism(?) is defined as "the religious cult of modern witchcraft, esp. an initiatory tradition founded in England in the mid 20th century and claiming its origins in pre-Christian pagan religions."
I've seen people get P.O.'d at calling the Wiccan way of life a cult, but that's apparently what it's defined as.
As for people following a wiccan way of life just because it's 'cool', let it go. It's just another fad, they're just more wannabe's.

Why would the Vatican vaults have access to anything about Wicca? How are their texts at all relevant? 0_o

If you read the link Error gave you, you'll note the sources quoted appropriately. Do go and read it. I know the tone can be a bit irritating at first but it really is very good information.

Unfortunately, unless you've been initiated, what you've been practising for ten years is not Wicca.

Ours too! crying But we call it a Fylfot. heart

... and to be fair, I guess, it was their cultural heritage, them being German and all. It still pisses me off though wink

From what I have read: Wicca is a nature 'worship' based religion, people don't have to pratice witchcraft to be wiccan. Wicca is the belief and witchcraft is the pratice.
From what I have read and from what I believe: True Wiccans who pratice Witchcraft do NOT believe they are; evil, can fly...do sacrifises. They do however believe in the healing and 'magick' that nature can bring us; such as using herbs and crystals.
(I'm sorry if I made any spelling mistakes...I'm terrible at spelling) Please contact me for questions or disscussion... and I'll do my best.

If you girls like wicca because of the sex, you should come over to Asatru. See what sex with real men is like. wink

Me. Not the best pic.
Wiccans are evil beasts from the depths of Hell that will rip your guts out with frying pans.

Or at least, I'm always scared that one of them might do that to me for her own entertainment.
