I'm going to be honest, I know very little about the Wicca religion, though I seem to not be the only one in that situation. I have noticed however a growing number of my friends practicing it, or at least claiming to practice it. Now, I realize Wicca is no where near a majority of people, but enough people have spent their efforts and time on it I feel it's enough for ED.

So, is there anyone here who can explain what Wicca is? And give proof?
Also, justifications do Wiccans use to explain why they believe in Wiccanism?

Any and all serious replies are well appreciated.

Wicca is an initiatory orthopraxic fertility witch cult. In order to be Wiccan, you must be initiated into a verifiable lineaged coven, one who can trace their cross-sex initiations back to Gardner himself. You must be at least 18 for this, though in some covens the base requirement is older. This is due to the explicit sexual nature of the practice, as it does include sex rites.

Sanity is subjective.

Yup.

There's an actual orgy?

Wicca is a nature based religion (psuedo?), in which rituals, seals, chants, and prayers are used to invoke a spirit, message, or sign of some sort.

That's what is commonly called Wicca, but that's not Wicca at all. Error's link is about actual Wicca.

The Wicca sold in Borders and New-Age stores is usually not Wicca at all, but eclectic neo-paganism that has taken the name Wicca.

Having sex wasn't part of Rasputin's religion, he just loved to indulge.

Anyhow people are attracted the idea of which-craft. The Wiccans believe in white which-craft, used in order to heal or grant luck, that sort of thing.
Sorry about the lack of information, I dont very much myself but you could try asking in the religion sub-forum. You could possibly find some Wiccans to answer any questions correctly.

It's not a cult.

It's a religion whose symbols were labeled at evil by Christians and Catholics to keep people away from it.

Wiccans believe in a female deity-the idea of this was horrifying to the Christian and Catholic men who used their religion to keep women from gaining rights or power. After all, even the story of Adam and Eve is meant to make women see inferior to men.

Society even labeled all Wiccan symbols as evil- like this symbol:

Which many believe is a dark symbol of demonic arts used only by demons and evil witches, or other dark forces.

When in actuality the symbol is just about the balance of the elements in the world.

I'm going to answer this question the same way I answer every "What is" question.

What is Wicca. Oh baby, don't hurt me. Don't hurt me no more.

Now, seriously. (Sorry, I'm in a musical mood today.)

Two types of Wicca:
-Actual Wicca
-Wannabe Wicca

Your friends are most likely Wannabe Wicca practitioners.

Actual Wicca is a complex and sometimes secretive Neopagan cult that is centered around fertility and sometimes nature in general. They have an awesome star-thingy which is absolutely NOTHING like the Satanist star. (Satanist one is upsidedown! Der.)

Wannabe Wicca is a way for emo rebellious cutter teenagers to cut themselves and have a religious excuse while trying to be different. These don't become atheists because although they hate Christianity they're too much of pussies to actually admit that reincarnation is bullshit. They also are most likely fans of Harry Potter and like to think that they're special because they can somehow cast "spells". These guys insult the rest of Wicca.

The Holy Texts
This *insert time period*'s question:
Why do people care about the origins of the universe? (God did-it, Big Bang, etc.) What difference does it make? What could this tidbit of information possibly present? Could it cure cancer? PM me.
