So exactly...what is wrong with a woman breastfeeding her child in a public place? Be it a park bench, or what have you?

It's because we have this huge taboo on the naked body that people become completely prude when it comes to anything like breasts. Plus the fact that breasts are seen as sexual, fatty fun-bags of fatty fun.

Some people might argue that bottle feeding in public and breastfeeding in the home is a suitable alternative and that may be, but babies are not always like clockwork.

Breasts often become tender and sore when mothers don't express and spending a long time outside the home can require a feed. Should women be made to feel like they should prepare for things like this before they leave the house, or go home if they need to express? Many would argue that mothers are busy, tired and don't have time to make these preparations. They might also argue that the importance of her and her child's health is greater than the importance of someone not wanting to catch a glimpse of an exposed breast.

I will say, that if a woman does breastfeed in public, I prefer if she didn't whip out her tit and just stick her kid on it. I would appreciate a little modesty, and the use of a blanket, or a nursing shirt would be nice. However, I realize some mothers don't like this, because they then can't see or make eye contact with their child.

The part of the breastfeeding debate I dislike is when people ask for the woman to go to the bathroom to do so, like in places such as restaurants. Quite frankly, that's disgusting. Public restrooms are generally heinous (I avoid them like the plague, if I can help it), and not all of them have places specifically for breastfeeding (no place to sit down, comfortably). So, you're asking a woman to feed her child in a germ-infested room because you're a prude, and can't divert your eyes. Would you take your food into a public bathroom? I highly doubt it.

The issue with breastfeeding in public has nothing to do with women who are discreet about it, but rather the women who just pop it out without a cover. A breastfeeding baby is anything but nice and neat, and a milk filled boob can become a dangerous biological weapon. I have seen a woman breastfeeding, and spraying those sitting at the table with her because she wouldn't pulls a small, thin scarf over herself and child and show some modesty.

I have seen women beast feeding at my work (a restaurant) and no one had a problem with it but both times the women were covered (nursing shirts, whatever it is called). I think that is probably the best idea. I think they should cover up but they should not be forced to feed their babies in a restroom. That is just kind of gross and the women would not be able to sit down and restrooms can be very dirty.

How do you react when you see a woman breastfeeding in public? Most women I see breastfeeding, have a cover, or a nursing shirt so that she's not totally exposed. So it doesn't bother me at all, and I don't really pay attention to them.
If a woman does breastfeed in public, do you believe she should make use of a blanket, or a nursing shirt? I think it's more for modesty sake, but I don't think it's bad at all to use it. It's probably more so a good idea to keep it handy just in case some prude decides to b***h.
Do you think breastfeeding women should be forced to go to a public restroom to feed their child? Hell. ********. NO. I would NEVER breastfeed my child in a public restroom. Those areas are usually very filthy, and I would not want to do anything with that. The only reason I would even go near a public bathroom was if I couldn't find somewhere else to change my baby's diaper.
