It's silly how people are uncomfortable about breast-feeding. They are ridiculously sexualized, when their function is really just feeding babies. Men have no problem seeing breasts in movies, ads, pornography, etc. but HEAVEN FORBID they ever see a woman breastfeeding in public neutral How did it become so backwards that it's ok when they're used for sex, and not ok for their biological purpose? I think it would be wise for mothers to be discreet about it if only to avoid harassment from people.

If breasts weren't meant to be sexual, it wouldn't feel so good to have them squeezed, licked, sucked, nibbled, etc.

They are, but I personally think it's silly how blown out of proportion they are (if you excuse the pun). It's this overly sexualized view of breasts that prevents women from breastfeeding in public.

Ignoring what we find offensive or sexual public hygiene would be at an issue. Imagine a hundred naked people sitting in the same spot at a bus. Or if everyone time you bumped into someone private parts touched. Hygiene would become a huge issue.

I can understand the hygiene angle. However, only the breastmilk would be capable of transmitting disease (and hopefully since she's breastfeeding she wouldn't have any diseases). I don't think there's much risk of catching anything sitting next to a woman breastfeeding, any more than you can catch HIV from sitting next to someone who has it. And I think just like nudist colonies or nudist marches, you just stay far enough away from people that contact doesn't happen.

I think it nudist colonies it might be a good idea. But in today's society it would be best to avoid public nudity.

As far as breast feeding goes, as long as it's covered and whatnot. Breast milk squirting out might be a problem as well. O_o
