Wow, I didn't know that you could read minds. Since when did you gain the ability to discern people's motivations for not liking you?

Basic human empathy and reasoning?

http://images.military.com/pics/eagleglobeanchor.gifSemper Fidelus

Oh, yes. I see. "They don't like me, and so it's because ______, no matter what."

That's not what I said at all.

I just said it's possible for you to know someone's motivation without them telling you. xp

http://images.military.com/pics/eagleglobeanchor.gifSemper Fidelus

If you're psychic. My guess would be that 90% of the time you'd be wrong in guessing motivations. It's possible to be wrong about human behavior, and guessing about what someone's motivations are without being a mind-reader would entail either knowing that person on a very deep level, or making biased assumptions based on their appearance and a small sample of their actions.

Again, empathy lets you know how people act, how they think, how they feel, and basic subconscious actions reveal aspects of their body language that can show that they are lying and whatnot.

OOOOOOOOOOh, right. Of course. I forgot. It's not like people have bad days and tell just about everyone to ******** themselves. Of course not. When someone's being an a** it's because of a deep seated prejudice. Right, silly me.

Yes, when you're psychic, they tell you, or you know them extremely well. Since that isn't the case most of the time when people are claiming 'prejudice' the case for prejudice is rather weak.

Not everyone attempts to hide their prejudice.

http://images.military.com/pics/eagleglobeanchor.gifSemper Fidelus

True, but honestly, the actions of a minority don't reflect the motivations of the majority. Actually, screw it, fat people are the majority, so, really, they're in the position of power, and thus they're the ones who can discriminate and have prejudice, if you follow the standard operating logic of progressives.

Whenever obese people moan about 'thin privilege' they're basically moaning that there's either people who are different than them, or that manufacturing things to meet higher weight limits costs more money, and ain't that the most unfair thing?

My God you are ignorant. Thin privilege is studied by sociologists, this is not just some internet sensation. The diet industry itself is proof that fat people are unwanted in this country, which does not exactly fit with your idea that fat people have some sort of power. Power over what? What exactly do you think fat people can do that skinny people can't? Where have you been your whole life not to notice one sided media representation and degradation socially of fat individuals?

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Semper Fidelus

Don't you think it's hard to be unwanted by the majority when you are the majority? That's the power obese people have. They are the silent majority. And right now they're a silent majority bitching about how bad their feelings are hurt.

Now, as far as media giving one sided representation towards fit people. Well, that's because of money. Fit people are aesthetically pleasing, so people want to watch them more. How do you get more money running a TV program? Get more people to watch so your advertising minutes are worth more. How do you get your advertising up? By getting people to watch your programming. How do you get people to watch your shows? Show them aesthetically pleasing things, which means showing them fit people.

Money is what gives people power, and it is fit people who hold onto that money and power, not some silent majority of fat people. And you did not answer my questions.

Yes I did. First paragraph. The power of majority. Power in votes. It's currently a latent power, since there's no political party aimed at fitness levels. However, if that became a major campaign issue, the person who promised obese people everything they ever wanted could probably garner at least 60% of the national vote.

Also, it's bullshit to say that only fit people have money. Bill Gates is obese and he's one of the richest men in america.

You also have purchasing power. There's very little in the way of individual power, but since you're the majority, you have all the power that comes along with that. Every bit of it.

To each their own but personally if you are so fat you cant walk for 20 minutes I wouldnt call that a positive.

It's important to feel positively about your body. I have actually had a recent change in my body, I lost 50 pounds and it would have been a lot harder to do that if I didn't love my body. It's been quite the journey, I never thought I would feel more insecure about my body. Thankfully, I have a great support system.

I think it's important to love your body no matter what your size, because you have to start some where, that doesn't mean you ignore your health risks. Sometimes you have to start with mental health and work your way to physical health. Trust me, you can loose weight and feel like sh*t about yourself, even if you're physically healthier.
