Welcome to Gaia! ::

Okay, here are the details, my drive to delve deeper into this is not due to any school assignment, but rather due to a search I am conducting for to advance my own personal philosophy.

The respect I speak of, is unearned respect, what I am wanting are the psychological effect that unearned respect holds on the person who is respected without ever having had actually earned it.

The Psychology of Ego I seek is the same sort spoken of in this video

Frankly everything I am searching for is regarding self change as well as the effects that are present for those whom have respect and haven't earned it, as well as over the psychological effects that statuses can have on people.

However alternate perspective are important.
There is a lot of that going on.
Perhaps it may be beneficial to first study biology.

The Psychology Regarding The Effects Of Unearned Respect

The thread is silly but this, in particular, is not even a thing.

Found it!

When someone is granted respect without having had earned it, it presents them with an ego, if they turn the ego away, then the ego does not effect nor consume them.

When respect whether earned or not are given to a figure that is in some way public, it effects the power that person holds. Due to the conformity rate, respect given from a select few often travels to other people and then there are more people giving respect and thus support to whomever. This support in turn leads to power, the power then holds a chance to increase the person's ego. If the people's respect isn't blinded by pride and the ignorance of conformity (And the feeling of belonging regarding groups that conform) then the ego will be the downfall of the person who is gaining the respect. However, if the people are consumed by the conformity then the ego will not be the downfall of whomever is gaining respect. Ego leads to an expansion for thinking of one's self rather than one's people, therefore only if the ego goes unseen and un-judged can it prevail.
