while sure you just need to swing a sword to cut someone up, it does take quite alot of force to penetrate. my girl friend and her cousin went into a sword fight. her cousin swung and hit her in the shoulder, but cuz she isnt strong enough it only left a temporary scar. she also stabbed my girlfriend sqare in the gut, it knocked the wind out of her more then anything and a small temporary scar, both are alive and healthy to this very day.


Someone should buy them a sword that didn't come out of a Bud-k catalog...


Lol. And I wonder why they were slashing each other to begin with. Either they were bored or really just hate each other. Nothing good can come of boredom stupidity and weapons, no matter what kind. =P

Well, then there's Violence Time. But then again, those weapons are wooden and toys. ~Remembers the only time they tried to use metal tourny weapons~ Ah, the bruises we had after that.

My only argument about guns, and this was covered a bit in the beginning, is that there isn't any real consequence with them. You fire it and if you're a ways back you just see a drop, you don't have to be right there. With a sword, you're in close, you see the life leave. That's not necessarily good, but at the same time, it makes you think more. You're not just going out, and bam bam i'm done. You're going out and having to constantly be in close range and closer danger. You fight with a sword and hell yeah there's a good chance that you're gonna get cut. With a shot, it hurts, but if the person is an amatuer it's not really gonna make you lose anything. It take considerable skill to master both the sword and the gun, but the gun is more often than not going to be at the mercy of the elements. Yeah you can train to get around the wind and such, but what about night time with rain so heavy you can see but a few feet ahead. The visual would mess up the swordsman but it wouldn't make it nearly impossible to work. All and all I like the sword/knife/whatever better because there's a sense of...reality? Yes, reality with it. A gun can kill from far away, but the sword must almost always put you right there, so you're less likely to want to fight and kill without a very very good reason. 3nodding

I have to agree with Sierra, if your going to train, use Kendo sticks, or something similar and put some damn armor on if you can.
