Those who are best adapted to their environment will survive to produce offspring. Not those that are the strongest or even necessarily the smartest.

Aren't you missing the point somewhat? But in order to be polite and respond, strong or weak, it's better to be alive, those who appear weak may not be as weak as it would appear. Those who are truly strong usually survive through the strength of mind and will to do just that.
