Yup, laws are repealable. Thats why prop 8 repealed the decision on prop 22.

Laws can be repealed and the sad part is that this one was deemed unconstitutional and yet was voted on again. Whether states are responsible for handing out licenses or not shouldn't matter, if the case of "who has the upper word on the law" was merely that then they could also limit whom could go to the hospital, ban anyone they didn't like from driving for no reason, etc.
Two large votes, no logical reason to ban it, and yet still made illegal twice. I think the lack of "ohh maybe in the future..." is because of the crash and burn of the first two attempts.

Wrong. You do not understand the difference between prop 22 and prop 8. Prop 22 was overturned because it specifically banned gay marriage. That has lead to California Supreme Courts to legislate from the bench because by turning over a ban, it has effectively allowed gay marriage instead of on the middle netural ground of simply not recognizing gay marriage. However prop 8 fixed that problem by actually defineing marriage rather than a ban of any group. Simply, marriage between those of the same sex is not recognized as legal. That is what separates prop 22, and prop 8. One is a ban law, one is a definition law.

Maine actually legislated gay marriage rights, but a counter measure to revoke them was voted in successfully; Question 1.

And we HAVE lost. We've been losing every time it's put to a vote. Octane must be partying in the streets if he's not on here.

This isn't a pun, it's just stupid. there's no wordplay and as far as i can see, screwing yourself over does not also mean have sex with eachother.

As for your question, the problem is the religious fanatics, the homophobic, and other biased individuals who constantly regulate their lives for litte benefit to those people. I don't think theres some gay people missing the no box on prop 8 which would directly make it their own fault. It's not because of their own actions that their movement fails, it's because of people like you who supported prop 8, even though it didn't mean anything to your own life. You'd rather deny someone the oppurtunity to have something than just ignore them. It's a p***k type move.

And to not support prop 8 would be would be going against my principles and views. I firmly believe marriage is between a man and a woman. That is it. Anything else I would not agree with.

what about civil unions providing the same legal rights?

To make that assumption you'd have to have significant proof that homosexuality is not a choice and its not something thats plainly obvious, such as skin color. And guess what, psychologists and doctors that focuses on this field cant even tell you.
