Even though I disagree with school uniforms, I facepalmed a lot reading the OP's post.
The "OH EM GEE IT'S TAKING AWAY OUR INDIVIDUALITY AND CREATIVITY!!!!!1!" argument is utter bull. If you want to be creative, try art, writing, music, acting, etc. If you cant figure out another way to be creative than through your clothing, well, you don't have very much creativity to begin with. If you wear a uniform, it's not like you become an effing robot all out of a sudden.
The "school is for socializing and I need to know what kind of people I should be friends with" argument is also stupid. Firstly, school isn't for socializing. Even if that's what you do at school, that's still not the purpose of school. And even if it were, it's shallow to start talking to someone because of clothing. You know, I just wear what's comfortable, so I don't really have a clothing style. And you know what clothing style my best friend is into? Fashion core. Yet, we still have a lot in common.
So, why am I opposed to uniforms? Because of comfort. If you wear a school uniform, chances are that it will be uncomfortable. And, if you feel uncomfortable, it will be a lot harder to concentrate at your studies.
