You have yet to prove that the harp seal population is threatened.

Well they were certainly under threat of getting hit on the head.

The population as a whole, not individual members.
Well I am rather fast, and I have a big stick.......

Is that a threat or a promise or a come-on?

Alas, Fair Maiden of The OP, I Doth Agree. Thou Plight is Most Heinous. I Believe That It Doth Be Time to Champion Justice. Rise Up, Brothers At Arms. Rise Up and Let Us Save These Fair Creatures.

We Are Men Of Valor. We Are Men Of Pride. It is Time to Prove That. Rise, I Say, and Go Forth. Thou Shalt Slay Dragons, Not Seals. Thou Shalt Slay Sin, Yet Thine Shan't Lay Neither a Finger Nor Fist Upon the Delicate Flesh of Seal. These Are Most Sacred Creatures And It Is Our Right, Nay, Our Duty! To Protect Them With Our Lives If Need Be.

Rise Up.

We are men of careful thought, and we must put the Canadian liquor market's integrity before cute seals that will grow up to be cold-hearted fish murderers.

Alas! Thou Doth Make a Point. Is It Wise to War With Our Neighbors Who Hold Keys to Such Exotic Goods As Kokanee and Maple Syrup? Woe is Me. Woe is Us! Perchance This Issue May Be Resolved Through Clever Pondarances And Marrying Off Fair Maids To Appease The Canadian Savagery. Doth Wocki-Chan Still Be Eligible for Alliance?

The only thing between the boorish seal-hunters of Canada and the sudden consumption of all of the alcoholic beverages in North America is the seal hunt. If we take away the seal hunt, our only back-up will be trucking in marijuana by the gigaton from Vancouver, which would make me want to set up a grow-op in my house. Vancouver does not need to be a city in which 50% of houses have residents that go by the name of cannabis sativa.

Forsooth, Thou Has a Poignant Point. Not Only is Herb of Less Effect Than Hearty Ale it Also Tends To Suffer more From The Hazards of Trades. Perhaps We Could Connive of A Plan and Force Our Neighbors to Be In Need of Spirits for Other Reasons.

Perhaps...

No! I Doth Be Too Bold. Yet alas I Am Forced into a Corner.

Perhaps We Should Follow Times of Old and Send A Trojan Horse. Perhaps We Should Gift Our Neighbors With Both Perez and Paris Hilton in The Hopes of Increasing their Need for Libations?

No, Vancouver already has the Bacon Brothers. Damn those gangster assholes with handguns from Abbotsford.

I like clubbing seals with other seals.
And I think people like you should be clubbed.

This is my problem with the whole save the animals groups. They cry for an animal yet want to kill humans.
I think that beating any animal is cruel. If one wants to eat the meat and wear the fur of an animal they need to kill said animal as quickly as possible so there is no suffering. Clubbing and trapping just isn't a quick way to kill any animal.

Ideally, you swing your hakapik once for a cleanly smashed skull.

(ETA--the majority of non-inuit hunters, I believe, actually use firearms.)

BUT THE INUIT ARE FIRST NATIONS PEOPLE, THEY SHOULD GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING!

The above is the actual attitude of the Canadian federal government toward the First Nations people. At the current rate, we'll be worshipping their excrement within a few decades.

OUR NAUGHTY ANCESTORS TOOK THEIR LAND ONCE, NOW WE OWE THEM!

I believe the laws which protect the cute fluffy ickle babies only apply to non-inuit hunters as well. rolleyes

I think even the Inuit tend to use firearms more often now too, don't they?

Probably, it seems like it'd be easier to kill 'em that way.

They only apply to the non-Inuit ones.
Apparently, the OP has managed to cause a road trip to Canada to club seals.

Perhaps, she should consider not voicing her opinion anymore? If your attempts to sway people away from seal clubbing, causes people to move to Canada so they can club seals, you're really not helping the cause.

p.s. ******** Seals. ******** fish murderers.
