Formic: Who the hell is 'You'. I haven't tried to end affirmative action because I haven't been elected to political office, or am of sufficient political influence where I could lobby such legislature.

In reality, I wouldn't want to end affirmative action.

Without affirmative action, many minority students from small, underpaid rural and urban schools (which can in no way compare to well-funded schools). Would have no chance of getting into college. Also, many minority students come from families with incomes below the poverty line. Couple this with the fact that many minority students are first generation college students leads to affirmative action being a necessity right now.
Affirmitive action has nothing to do with the Poor, the needy. It has to do with Race, period. The Scholarships for the poor and needy are available to anyone, regardless of race. All AA does is get applications pushed through into colleges because they are of one race or another.

Racism is the use of race to make a decision. AA uses race to make a decision. Therefore AA is Racism. Period.

. . .Racism is pointless and everyone hates everyone, instead of ignoring one form of it why not fight all of it?

Yes, the fun quote for that point:
I'm not prejudice. I hate everyone equally.
And before you say it, no. I've never felt that I was discriminated against by any more than singular individuals. I was never left out of school, never denied anything because of AA. It just seems that if you don't want Racism, isn't the best way to do so is to ban race from ever being a factor in decision making processes?
Formic: Your grasp of the scholarship process isn't quite clear, nor of affirmative action in general.

Affirmative Action is so much more than race. Just because I didn't cover it in previous posts, doesn't mean it does not exist. The majority of college students have to pay for college, and complain when poor and needy students are given the most financial aid and scholarships. This in itself is a very subtle and widespread form of reverse discrimination.

And AA does not just 'push' students into colleges because they are one race or another. That makes it sound as if that is the only thing that gets minority students into college. AA is a help. In fact, quotas are a illegal in the US now. So for my country, affirmative action is a very loose factor for collegiate level admissions, and may not factor into a minority students' application at all.
Any way a white person can be brought down a peg, is a righteous and just action. That is a fundamental truth.

What about sexual minorities among the white population?

Expound.

Do they deserve to get knocked down a peg as well, or participate in the knocking down of the peg?

I would love to say that I agree with you here, but I don't. I am poor, and white. You know what I get with a 3.8 GPA and applications to every scholarship there is? $1,000. All my black, Asian, Iroquois friends think it is ridiculous as there families are making more money and they are getting 7-10 times the amount of money. And you know what, I just think the system is ******** don't get mad at them for it.
We attend the same rallies and protest many of the same things.
But they agree as well as I do that your so called "reverse racism," exists and is harmful to some "whites."

It is perfectly clear, sir. Don't assume anything. I know it is not the only factor, nor was it ever meant to be. I've gone through the college application process, twice now. Finished my AA and now I'm working on my BA, of you wish to know.

It changes nothing of my argument. Race, at any level, if factored into either the application or scholarship process is, properly defined, racism.
