if America really wanted to rule the world we would.

This is true, but we would just have to kill mostly everyone else on the planet and lose a lot of our lives ourselves.

As far as who will overpower us It may be China, but they have numerous governmental problems that they must overcome to secure this role. They are doing well but the question still looms what happens when the current officials die off. As far as the EU I am still looking to see if this organization lasts. While they have some international power the different countries may still bring it down and they may not be done expanding. Right now the EU is still too much in the air.
And if the MNC's (multi-national corporations) gain the power some are speaking the most powerful ones are still based within the US. Indeed the on the list of top 10 only Finland has a company in there, and it is like number 7.

Well, I would say China or Japan. China just has the sheer man-power asspect, and they are become more powerful constantly. Japan has so much of the technological area dominated, and they could easly turn that technology to war.

Japan will not be the next superpower especially based upon their current fear of possible military capabilities. They even went out of their way to prevent their space program non-military by not being able to target a place via guided technology. They actually calculated everything before launch.

Well it's not like America will fall down in power, but it is slowly crashing down. I believe not one country will have the will to fight the old U.S. of A. since they will eventally lose to thier nuclear bombs and extremely strong army. USA will fall soon, but until that day comes, let's pray that we still have ourselves to thank since WE are the ones corupting America.
