The Willow Of Darkness
Rose die Valkyrie

I'm guessing Arya

Well done.

YAAAAAAAYYYY!

She's one of my faves too. It's hard for me to pick only one most favorite, most of the major characters are just so awesome in their own way.

I think I relate the most to Sansa, because she starts out as very wide-eyed and full of dreams and then her entire world crumbles and she has to adjust to living in a harsh world. It always bothers me how much hate she gets by the fandom because I think she behaves just like any other girl her age would, especially in that time period. Though I hope she'll become a badass Machiavellian chessmaster with Littlefinger as her teacher. Then she can betray him and win Winterfell back. >83

I relate to Brienne alot aswell, in that she too his highly idealistic and is still trying to cope with the fact that there are very few truly noble knights and lords in the world. I love her relationship with Jaime and I think she inspires him to be a better person and I'd hope my idealism will make the world brighter for someone someday too.

Before anyone starts shooting me down for expressing my opinion. One of the problems with gay marriage as that they tend to choose to get married under a certain religion, which to me is just plain wrong. I have no problem with gays being together or being married but I've never heard of a God that allows them to get married in their church or mass.

Like I said, I have nothing against them, but everyone has their boundaries.

i dont get why gay marriage is a big deal.. i mean they are people just like the rest of us. If they want to get married (just like most of the human population) they should be allowed to do so and the government should NOT have ANY right to deny it. Its like denying the right of people to get married. I mean they are humans too therefore should have the same rights as us on any subject and not just marriage.

I think the issue a lot of people having with allowing gay marriage is the "marriage" part. Many people view marriage as a religious institution, and the religious definition of marriage is "man and woman", so they believe allowing gay marriage will violate religious beliefs, or something like that. For example, I know someone who is against gay marriage but is not against civil union between two members of the same sex. For those who don't know, civil union is legally the same thing as marriage (same health care benefits, same legal rights, etc.). If I botched that definition, please correct me. So basically, they just want to preserve the religious definition of marriage, which is why they're against gay marriage. Does that make sense? Sometimes my thoughts don't translate to words very well.

Oh, and totally agree with all the points you made, OP.

Civil Union actually doesn't get the same health care benefits. If you don't get marriage most hospitals won't let your significant other visit or make decisions less they are your proxy. So if they are not the parents get to make the decisions. Whereas if you have marriage then your spouse is considered equal to a family member.

My knowledge is not perfect, as I do know there are other differences. I just know the one because I am a lesbian researching all the ways to get around those differences.

I thought Civil Union did include the thing with health care benefits....Hmmm...I'll take your word for it, though, since I'm sure you know more about it than me.

Some arguments that people put up against homosexual marriages may be that it disrupts order/morals. Something like "if they start allowing gay marriages, what next will they allow?". And to preserve religious laws too and such.
I think gay marriage is a subject that shouldn't even be a source of discussion. What's between two people, should stay that way. It's not really anybody elses buisness. What I do not understand is marriage is derived from a religion that says homosexuality is a sin; therefore wanting to be married would be accepting that. :S

Way to be vague.

Which religion says that homosexuals aren't people? Come on now, names and quotations from their sacred texts, please.

but marriage existed before both christ and christianity. Heck, it can be traced back to adam and eve, and at that point nobody, god or otherwise , said "chicks only".

I know, and it's that which made me realize religion is a sham. Christians hold genisis as 100% fact, but nobody stops to ask, who wrote it? if in the beginning, there was nothing...who was there to write about the nothing being there?

Indeed. I do believe that there could be, and probably is a superior force somewhere at work, but no human being knows or has ever know what it could possibly be.

The concept of marriage predates Christianity. And I don't see how wanting to make official in the eyes of society and the law your love for another person is accepting that "homosexuality is a sin."
