The older generation seemed to have gotten farther on less. The fact that we need so many new things just to compete is sort of saddening unless we were all responsible for progressing technology.

History books need to be held to this standard... But more like 5 years.
History is like the new Bible, a lot of old faces... Same mistakes.
Honestly?

I'd retaliate. I couldn't live without Kafka, Dumas, Voltaire, Paine, and the countless others I've read.

I would never ever not want a scholar or young mind to not have access to books that opened up my world and turned it upside down.

Remember the first Tolkien book you read? Gone.
Remember Catch-22? Gone.
Remember Heart of Darkness? Gone.

Simply not acceptable. The masses would join me.
