Doesn't that make you feel better about your life? Without knowing what poverty, severe hunger, or anything else you'd find in a third world country... How can anyone really know just how lucky they are? A picture may say a thousand words, but a incureably rumbly stomach (or one that's past the point of no longer rumbling) is understanding. I for one have no idea what it really means to be hungry. I just hope I never find out. As for the depression thing... As much as you might not want to, you need to go out and socialise. Chatting here isn't nearly the same thing. I suggest joining a club that encourage physical activity. Martial arts or some kind of dance. And make yourself go. It's not easy, but eventually it helps. There is no quick fix to depression, the pills are just a tool until you learn whatever skills you're missing to promote a healthy mental state within yourself. If they arn't doing their job, then you'll probably have a hard time working through the depression. But it's not impossible, and there are people who will help you. |

You could hand them a brand spanking new puppy wrapped in endorphins and it wouldn't be a permanent solution. I find it ironic that people will state things such as this in hopes of actually changing anything. Sure, his presentation wasn't the best, but who are you to act as though he has no condition. |

Start replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. Catch yourself when you start to make negative predictions. Theres nothing wrong with seeing the negative side of things but there is a positive side and a gray side too. Nothing has to PLEASE you. You need to see how things are CAPABLE of pleasing you.You dont have to replace your negative thoughts actually...
Just everytime you think something bad... Try to correct yourself and look at the gray side or bright side of things. For every bad thing that happens to you there is a good thing. Dont let bad things control your life. You have all the power in the world to see things so clearly and in such a blissful state of mind.. But when you are trapped in a negative thinking cycle it is hard to get out of. If you get into a habit of looking at the negatives its a cycle that can consume you. I seriously think this is ALL depression is (in combination with bad circumstances which get the habitual negative thinking kick started) It really helps to have a big goal to look forward too. If you are aimlessly going in circles try to have a hobby or ONE goal you can be really really excited about. That way no matter how sad you get there is always a little sunshine in your pocket. It helps you move in a good direction and not feel like you're so aimless. It gives your life purpose. IF you dont have a goal, you should desperately soul-search until you have one. Maybe soul-searching can be your goal? I'm really really sorry for sounding like a shrink but thats how I got over my low period. I was depressed for at least 11 years. Anyways good luck |
