Welcome to Gaia! ::

Thats rich. Did I say the female was the pebble? In fact I'd classify them both as subclasses of stone. Stop trying to make me sexist now as that is rather ridiculous. If you persist at this I am afraid I'll have to run circles round you and trap you within your own words.
Even in society today, men and women will never be equal.

I never said you were sexist, It could go either way, is the male the subclass of female? No.

Like you said, both male and female are subclasses of human. Thus your rock/pebble analogy was incorrect.

The correct analogy would be:
You have two different pebbles, one is kinda grey and the other is reddish, they're different rocks but they're both equally pebbles.

Please, show me how you trap me in my words.
We will NEVER be equal.
We werent meant to be.

Now they are heading for a better future how about getting on with life instead of pretending that you didnt get a job because your female or something. Women arent equal to men.

Especially here, you're making it sound as if sexism doesn't exist at all now. That is far from the actual truth. Employers will still be less likely to hire woman to do jobs that have been traditionally "male" jobs such as those that require brawn and/or heroism, whether or not a woman is qualified to do the job. Americans like to think of their most brave as men who rush into a burning building only to emerge minutes later holding a limp woman within their arms after an arduos struggle. In fact, the whole nation's definition of heroism was built on myths bearing this stereotyp.

So we can't just pretend that everyone is now on equal grounds. Sexism still exists and by sweeping whatever little instances that occur under the rug is not going to solve it or make it disappear. We have a much better chance at eradicating the problem by addressing legitable claims and not dispelling them altogether.

That's a bit pessimistic. Even for me.
a rock is a kind of stone
a pebble is a kind of stone
so therefore my analogy works
Your pebbles would not have an equal chemical make up, to be finickity.

No, they have different chemical make ups, but their chemical make ups are equal.

Seriously, you need to learn what the word equal means.
Words change. Maybe the word equality needs reviewing.

No.. I think equality still means the same thing it's meant for a very long time, you just don't have a good understanding of it.

Before I put down the welcome mat for flamers by writing my title, just think beyond "omfg, hes like being sexist" and think about it. Women arent men. Men arent women. Therefore they are not equal (notice the lack of me saying that one sex is better). They're good at different things. Men produce more testosterone than women, women produce more estrogen than men. That means they act differently. I am talking in general here, there are going to be people who dont fit into this of course, but there will be many more who do. What is starting to get to me is this idea that a genderless culture is the way forward. It isnt. And another thing that annoys me is how much females harp on about the plight of women. Yes, they werent treated fairly. Yes, things have changed for the better. Now they are heading for a better future how about getting on with life instead of pretending that you didnt get a job because your female or something. Women arent equal to men. Men arent equal to women. its like picking up a shark and a lion and saying that they are both types of butterflies. Now this may be a rant by actually, some jobs are better suited for men and vice versa. And women will naturally be better at some jobs than men. Of course this isnt the unflexible rule but it is the general rule.
Can we discuss why people think a genderless society is the way forward, or the differences is general between men and women (in terms of personality traits, skills etc(do NOT tell me men have a p***s and women have a v****a))
I agree, but men and women are people, and people should get paid the same exact rate for their job, period. And that's the only thing I can coment on.

Maybe you're backpedaling. There is a word for what you're looking for--it's "same." Men and women are NOT the same. They do not have the same hormonal make ups, they do not have the same reproductive system, they do not have the same secondary sex characteristics. Whether or not we are the same and can perform the same tasks is irrelevant to if we should be equal or not.
You are the one with the lack of understanding. You are confusing equality with equal rights and treatment. I do not challenge equal rights and treatment.

It sure sounds that way. Kinda sounds to me like you're saying that women are pretty much SOL thanks to their biology and that we should just accept being submissive and move on with our lives.
Different=/=unequal. We are all equal, but that doesn't mean that we don't have different strengths and weaknesses. Let everyone have equal opportunity, and those differences will sort themselves out.
