The relevance is that you said that the boy "shouldn't have to deal with the change". And no one said he has to. He's free to leave the relationship, anytime he wants to.

As far as dealing with the change, if he can't deal with her decision, then he doesn't deserve to call her his girl.

I agree with this part, and 4, but I mainly quoted you to ask where you read that they were living together? I saw nothing of the sort in the OP.

She is his girlfriend, so, I assume that entails a certain degree of intimacy where they would have access to each other's living arrangements.

Unless they live with their parents, or have roommates who do not want the key given out, or any number of other reasons. They are not living together nor does dating give automatic right of access to one's home at any time.

No, that means he should put a ring on her finger. If he's married to her, she'll have a harder time denying him sex. (It's a sin to withhold sex from your spouse.)
On the other hand, she's an unmarried catholic, she's supposed to be abstinent anyway.

No. If he's a good boyfriend he should respect her decision and be faithful to her. If he's looking to get laid on demand, without commitment, he should go be in casual/open sexual relationships since that's what suits his fancy and lack of self-control.

Not in the slightest. He should be able to live for 40 days with his hand neutral It's not like she's going to deny him sex after Lent. Although I wouldn't blame her doing so now after this.

And if she is truly dedicated to her religion, she won't back down!
And for the man to say she is "selfish" for GIVING UP SOMETHING, then he is an idiot and needs to be dropped like a rock!
Obviously he only wants the sex and doesn't care for her feelings..
If it were me, and my boyfriend did that to me, he would be so far out of my life!
Lent is about giving something up that is dear to you and realizing after those forty days how much you appreciate it or don't really need it to live life! Sex is a GREAT choice! Especially if you were like those two who do it often, it shows them how much the miss being intimate with one another. But OBVIOUSLY the man doesn't see it that way.....

you're right she won't back down if she's truly dedicated but that is a big IF

she is selfish though. she wasn't following her religion in the first place but all of a sudden decides to and she does it in a way that will make her boyfriend suffer. he is not an idiot he just has a different point of view.

obviously he doesn't care for her feelings? no. he probably thinks it is stupid to all of a sudden start practicing a religion that is a joke in the first place. you can care for someone's feelings without caring for every single thing they do. very dumb comment by you.

It's her body and her decision. She doesn't owe him sex simply because they've already had sex. One can say yes once and turn around and decide no a million times over, though partners do owe it to one another to discuss their decisions regarding sex, at least if they intend to stay in the relationship. Basically, he sounds like a douche nozzle.

Oh HELL no. First of all, Lent is giving up something for Christ, not for ourselves. It's giving up something that we take pleasure in. Obviously, this was a sacrifice for her, not just him.

i agree with this fully but she is still partly to blame and still a dumb person for one day not following a religion then all of a sudden following it--and on top of that it's christianity which is more of a joke than something like buddhism
