I am against any form of non-productive work.
How is it non-productive? It provides a service.
Not all services are productive. It does not further society in any given way.
Hmm...
But people are going to do it anyway, so wouldn't it make more sense if it was legalized and regulated?
No. Eventuality is a horrible argument.
I.E. "You are going to die anyway, so my killing you is fine."
That's not really the same thing, though.
I mean that there are prostitutes already, and they're not going to go away. So why not legalize and regulate it? It would make it safer, cleaner, and perhaps even give it less of a stigma.
This is all built on crappy arguments. First it's eventuality, now it's present state. "It is, therefore we must accommodate it" is the same argument from a different vantage point; you can say that about any activity under the sun. You're even shoving the health of those who choose this lifestyle in my face; sure I am for getting those who suffer oppression from dangerous business and acquaintances out, but otherwise those who pursue of their free will this action deserve no particular guarantees to safety.
It is a risky job. A risky, unproductive, job.
