Im against it. Not that I think it's wrong and goes against my values or anything, but I think any woman who's a prostitute, is probably not a person whos a real decent peice of society, and I definatly think that all that money could go somewhere better.

So you want the good people to be the ones who are wealthy? Good luck accomplishing that.

I'm all for it, based on a few points:
- Sex is not immoral.
- A woman should not have to go to prison for being paid to have sex, nor should a man be sent to prison for spending their money on sex.
- If the legal stigma was removed from prostitution, the prostitute would be given much better treatment, pimps could be completely eliminated, and better protection could be more easily acquired to help stop the spread of diseases. Additionally, the dignity of the woman could be more easily protected if prostitution were legal, and the woman would be able to leave whenever she wants without having to face a violent pimp.

I'm against it because it doesn't solve anything. Its legal to work in a brothel here in NZ but not to streetwalk. However people still streetwalk illegally and still end up battered and dead. Because brothels are legal, they have to be regulated with health, safety and tax laws to protect all involved. This cuts into profit and gets in the way of doing straight business. So the women streetwalk. They don't have to pay for security. They don't have to get regular STD checks. They don't have access to hygiene facilities. They don't pay taxes. They don't have any age verification or even enforced birth control usage. And yet they still expect to be protected and molly coddled when they put themselves in the dangerous situation and give nothing back even when there is a safe, legal alternative..

Put the money somewhere else? Like what? Gambling and other useless things... Anyway, it could be a good thing. It could let the government regulate it, making it safer in terms of S.T.D control and all that jazz. People are going to do it anyway, at least if there's some form of control it will be safer, and cleaner, in the long run.

Sex is legal.
Selling is legal.
Selling sex should be legal.
Only reason I can see why the government is against it is either "moral" reasons, or because they can't truly tax it.
But hey who are they to decide what we think is moral, let alone if it actually is.

I'm all for allowing people to sell their bodies to those who will pay for it, but history has show prostitution to lead to increases in crime rates and a higher ratio of domestic abuse among the people who buy and sell the commodity.

Other than that i see no reason for it to be illegal.

I am against the legalization of prostitution.

This law was not made in order to say "Hey, that's imoral, you can't do that with your life". It's to say "Hey, that line of work can spread sexually transmited diseases as well as make communities suffer from lack of work effort"

Well, no. I think it should be illegal. But I also think that it should be legal. One half of me is for "People can spend money on whatever they want" and the other is for "The distribution of money to productive causes." And I hate to say it, but I were to make the laws, I put society first, not individuals.

No. Keep beating the heads of the streewalkers and their johns until they get the idea that there is already a SAFE LEGAL ALTERNATIVE instead of bending over for the prostitute lobbyists who don't know basic logic from the hole between their legs.

I think it should be legalized, but with some codes.
Like the prostitute should:
Have regular blood testing.
Proper fighting/ self defense skills.
ALWAYS use a condom
Only work from a hotel. No streetwalking, no business outside of that hotel.
