A Really Bad Idea

If we go to war against Iran, it will be World War III and possiblity leading to the actual end of the world. Israel is sadily going to be hated, but the true enemy is Iran there,
Maybe I'm insane but surely Israel being hated isn't such a bad thing? They've hardly proven themselves masters in the art of diplomacy since the country's founding. Let alone Israel having a somewhat...shady history w.r.t nuclear arms that could almost be accused of being as bad as Iran's.
Let alone that the country from which most of this "Iran will have nuclear arms" harping said the same thing since the early '90s. Lending questions as to how long we can call something "soon".

With Syria; things are uncertain. Hopefully the Arab League can solve it internally given the UN has suffered a Sino-Russian veto. confused

First in a religious matter they are important. Second actually they have done alot of things, and has influenced the US orgainization of AIPAC or The American Israel Public Affairs Committee to be created. To me it was always them being attacked, and if we are to ever get peace in the Middle East, it surrounds around Israel. Even if they do attack Iran, Israel is actually one of the most peaceful countries.

All we know is that Iran does indeed have the power to attack, and they can any time.

Whatever action they choose to take, they should only draw resources from consenting parties. There's no use in policing the world if people don't want you to.
Seems to me that the US is loathe to act for that reason. Of course, there are mitigating factors in certain instances, like Saudi Arabia or Bahrain which preclude action, unfortunately.

Though the entire middle east is starting to turn on iran and syria. I'm trying to learn more, but they're shi'ite, and most the rest are sunni, and that's a war waiting to happen. It's not just political, but also Religious
And regional instability is undesirable to the West. East, too. Carter Doctrine states that the US is right to intervene in cases where its oil interests are threatened, so that might be some grounds internally for intervention, but it'd still be a hard sell, and I'm not sure the Administration really wants to lose any more soft power than it already has under its tenure and the tenure of the last administration.

We should be doing something, syria is tantamount to genocide the way they've been killing people in (i believe hobs)
If not the US the at least americans should do something

The middle east is a geographical concentration of hatred, there won't be peace, they'd fight down to the last man if they could, and it'd be holy to them to do so. It's practically destined to be a bloodbath, what do you think could stop it?
The CIA and Israel have long been secretly using al Qaeda linked terrorists to strike with terror bombings and assassinations in Iran. I remember listening to "conspiracy" radio in 2006, talking about how the neocons and Israel were just itching to find an excuse to attack Iran. Guess it took six years but they sure seem to be signalling war soon

Syria's government of course has killed 6200 civilians in recent time, something Iran is now backing and Russia is supplying most the weapons. So indeed, this like Mexico, Pakistan and other near failed states could be one of the major flashpoints of 2012.

Well I meant al Qaeda linked. al Qaeda is just one part of a vast nexus of Pakistani conflict friendly militants that have multiple uses. Like Kashmir or anti Indian forces. This is why Pakistan still secretly helps al Qaeda and the Taliban when its useful, as a sort of chess piece against Afghanistan and India. Also its a strange thing...al Qaeda has pledged hatred against Iran, yet Ive also seen reports of the leaders of Iran making secret deals with senior al Qaeda operatives.
